DIY
Its a dream for any car lover to keep his car in top notch condition using his DIY skills.

But some times it could backfire so be cautious and best of luck.
BTW could you please post the pics of equipment you bought.

Here we go.!
Compressor can push 120psi max but for painting we dont need anything above 50psi.

Hi there, great to see your Punto in action after a long time.

How was the weather in Coorg?

Do update more on the road conditions, did you do the Iritty - Taliparamba stretch?

How is this Iritty forest stretch in parrticular.

Because myself planning a Bekal fort, which was missed during our last visit to Kerala.

Yes Via Iritty. Roads are fine until Virajapetta, then we headed to Madikkeri. (I mean from Kannur towards) for you it would be otherway round.

If you are coming Via Mysore I suggest you dont or get ready for some serious offroading and bruising your tires,Roads are too bad almost 20 km stretch. better you deviate from Hunsur to Mananthavady to take Mananthavaadi muthanga forest route which is well maintained and nice roads .

Climate in Coorg was chilling ,of course a heavenly experience for us Kannurians. we were short of time so could n0t explore it well .

If i remember this was the dent created by your wife while reversing.

Wish you the best finish.

You are right, it happened with her at house premise.

Yes I did remove it myself, being a technical guy and having all kind of tools it was easy for me.
Painting has been completed but final finish is not very pro type with a glaze ,I believe something wrong with my mixing. I may redo it after some tech advice.after all Paint costs Rs400 only .
Rubbing Putty was really fun ..lol.[lol]

lol i am hooked on epic stuff, i have a air compressor with me, am inspired to buy the rest of the kit now, can you list what all did you have to buy err painterbabu(and whether it was local or online) apart from air compressor(like those spray addons which couple with the compressor).

Are you planning a clear coat too ?, please give very very detailed in the steps you took, this is going to be fun! The front and rear doors look different shades or is it my eyes, but i am loving it nevertheless!

Edit: Putty is wall putty or something else?

No online buying, I bougth it all in local paint store, automotive paint store except the compressor which was bought from tool and machine shop. rest of the things like couplings, hose pipe are available from any hardware shope

clear coating is in my list but not right now as it needs more detailing and I am too inexperienced. more over proper atmosphere is mandatory like a paint booth.else too much of dust settle on the coat making it a mess

Wall putty..are you kidding [frustration]!!
lol ..I call it Automotive or metallic paste. the one I used need to be mixed with hardener.there is another one NC putty if I am not wrong!
