@ torquer:

I am very pleased to hear that. Apologize again if I was rude. I just get irritated if anyone tailgates because, as I said, I was rear ended by a verna & then a biker.

No. Darker colors fade.

Other way round. Scratches will be less visible in BNW.
Darker colour will not fade , if polished and waxed regularly or , maintained perfectly.
even a 5 long year + parking in sun and maintained by good detailing wont fade your car colour,

on the other way , light colour's fading comes un noticed.

Fading depends on maintance.

Even a year old white colour looks dull if not polished. The same thing shines after polishing this happened on our member dilip's City. ! but he was lucky as it was just a one and a half year old car. and shining was brought back!

Hi,
Good to know you are from Kannur. I just moved from chennai. i had some bad experience with petrol pumps.
Most of the petrol pumps in kannur dont have Air..My vehicle was smoother in chennai. I allways go to the same petrol pump Tvs in chennai. The mileage was amazing...I am just hunting for a good pump.???

I am not impressed with the way of treatment, in the sense fiat recommends "Selenia engine oil " and Tata ass has used something else.[frustration]

now what should I DO?

Check the Invoice

So did not take the car back yet..!!! [anger]

A silly question from my side:
does Punto's (India) rpm guage has a redline or is it like the needle turning red at the red line?
Remembering what Drifter has said "no question is silly"

I think neither of it. At night it would be scary to look at odo at high speeds doesn't it?
Is there any advantage of using selinia engine oil?
I dont know but that is what fiat recomends
What is tata ass's response?
Hope everything goes fine.
Everything is fine ..much much...far far better than how she used to be.

Mild vibrations are all gone, even revving up high to 3000rpm she doesn't roars anymore but whines now.[bit exaggerating :-) ]

The part number (starting with 0059) shows its from Fiat and its indeed Selenia oil.
Thank you so much RSM , that is very much relieving I can sleep peacefully tonight.

Chill and enjoy Diwali.
Sadly ,still in abroad. My younger brother is taking care of her.

Trust your service guys.
I do , but fingers crossed.

Thanks again.

Fiat do make beautiful and powerful cars but their ASS is one of the reason people don't want to buy their car but it may be exaggerated because one of my friend who bought Linea six months back, he never complained about the service even though he was owning Hyundai Accent. I myself is crazy about Linea's and Punto's looks and handling but alas dad won't buy me a FIAT. I sometime drive my friend Fiat Linea and that car never disappoints.

This is very generic interpretation. the fact is bit Odd, as far as I have observed.
other than couple of isolated incidents regarding ASS of Fiat they are par with rest of manufacturer/brands. Every manufacturer errs sometimes or other.
even brand new Volkswagon Polo rattled (of my friends distant relative in calicut)but they are not serious issues as far as entry level car is concerned so such things can be overlooked , but concerning Fiat we are all keeping a hawks eye, just because Fiat has lot of potentials and we all expect incredible product from them.

I have been using My fiat since an year ,all my worries were just superficial.
As it had passed 15000km without any hassle , now this car has been worth money spend for the amount of comfort ,drive quality, nvh looks and everything else..it has absorbed all kind of abuse(considering bad roads of kerala)....cheers to fiat.

Regarding the Fiat ,strangely i havent seen much of fiat in rural areas.
people look at my Punto as an alien or imported one in village areas,at same province or district one can find as many Fiat and Lineas in City area , competetively to other brands (Maruthi excluded).

One has to agree Fiat do not have much of showrrooms or outlets in remote areas of India where as Tata ,mahindra and maruthi does have it at every milestones...... (maybe tata do not wish to for fiat) even Hyundai is seriously expanding .

One more serious factor is upgrade. since 4 years it has been same 2 car with same old ergonomics people are being entertained with.(even though it still has the contemprory appeal ) but people want to see something fresh and new .where as in the market every next month there is a new facelift and launch like Volkswagon,Nissan,

Fiat being a JointVenture with Tata, which is also a competent auto maker is no easy drill, as one may have to share every technology and innovative idea for the sake of it.

I feel Fiat might be feeling in a kind of trap. so other than continueing and rocking India with famous MJD engines, in car business they have fewer options only .
I remember an article where Fiat India CEO said that bringing other technologies like 1.6 mjd ,twin air etc means they should be able to fit in Tata cars too as per tata's 50 percent share justice , which would be too much taken for granted as far as company like Fiat is concerned they might have invested a lot to produce such legendary engines.
so let us all live with what Fiat has provided us with Incredible car like Punto and linea.
especially both punto and linea ,linea t-jet has been exceptionally great car as well as perfomer.

Couldn't have agreed more Jaydev [cheers]. The thing you said of no new launches is so damn true. Fiat doesn't come out with any new releases in India. Moreover, someone did tell me once that they went to book Linea in Tata showroom and the SE was more inclined to sell him Manza. Its high time Fiat should open their own exclusive showrooms and service station. Will take some time for Fiat to make their reputation in India but seeing a company as big as Fiat I don't think its impossible.
