13700km updates

Gave her to free checkup camp in tata showroom. There was no much of issue except Dirt all over and Coolant level getting low (gradually) and rear wiper .
Took the car in evening .
1.The woman sitting at lobby gave me feedback papers before I saw the car and said it is just for a formality in which was checklist for quality of service ,cleaning, service satisfaction etc. -i refused to fill before i see the car.
2.Saw the my own DIY paint on mud flaps were Ripped off.
3.Body mud was taken off but Black specks like that of tar were still visible all over the body.
4. interior cleaning was average.
5. coolant issue was fixed by changing hose connector and clip (charged rs 24 for clip.
5.rear wiper fixed new for Rs.442.
6.new issue had arisen,
'Check glow plug" in the mid, Se told me it was due to issue with glow plug timer which need to be replaced. I was completely loosing my temper and asked him, when i brought the vehical in morning everything was alright ,how come within 4 hours timer went off? he started to explain technical details etc which did not comfort me.

I said right now i am leaving and I will see to it soon. 2/10

In night i went through the manual and and checked the fuse in fuse box. the 50 amp fuse was broken in fuse box...!!!!

Next day morning I blasted whoever came online to talk to me from tata SS,receptionist ,service manager, sales excecutive etc.

By noon the same Service guy called be back apologizing and requested to allow him to take the vehical to SS and fix the issue. I said no i am thinking something simple like putting up a mail to Fiat in Maharashtra .
I told him that I got the info from other resources about this issue is due to blown fuse which is shear mishandling from your side.
I spoke to service manager and he was also like "it may have issues with glow plugs which came up when they resetted ecu while servicing."
I asked him if I can have any trouble while in the way? to which he said NO. not at all in warm places like kerala, but in cold places like ooty you can have starting trouble in morning.
So i said I cannot give you my car for servicing any recent and you can fix it in next service is it alright. he said perfectly alright.

Off late I have been experiencing bit of tighter clutch. No more butter soft as brand new one. How i discovered was i checked in brand new Punto90hp. it did not even feel under feet, Mine I need to push a bit not hard but not luxurious either.
I showed it to service manager for which he said it seems just below "ok" there seems to be little bit of tightness. which could be due to pressure plates.
I enquired if it would give issues like CSC failure or something ,for which he said no ,and I added then you can fix it in second service..he said yeah? 5/10
Fiat niggles anyone??

Front right Alloy rim is bit mashed . Bad roads in kerala ,unfortunate incidents!!!!
Gave her for tire alignment ,mechanic said Be carefull about these roads ,go slow in potholes.Hmmm scary.!!!

Still Going good.
NVH has considerably improved.
She had opened up very much . Very sweet(yes sweet) experience to drive. Smooth shifting, smooth pickup and nice feel. 10/10

One funny incident.

One of my friend who is bit of car enthusiast had a ride with me but he never heard or saw a fiat before...(very silly),He owned toytoa corolla and LC in Dubai and. We travelled around 80 km together in kerala roads. He was much happy to see integrated phone system and voice responce system. Then we arrived at fuel bunk, and i halted at diesal pump. I asked the lady to fill it while trying to see the guage which i couldnt and asked my friend to see if it is zero , he looked at it and started shouting ...hey ,hoy...huh ...stop stp..not diesal no not diesal.....!!! i was shocked to see a sudden reaction from him. The fuel lady also got scared sensing some misunderstanding. he turned to me and said this is diesal pump petrol is that one. i said this car drinks diesal not petrol. the fuel lady was waiting staring at us and asked bit harshly guys what do you want petrol or diesal. i said diesal.!!!
I had an evil contended feeling inside me... LOL. I asked him what happened to you still in Dubai hangover?? He said No, I thought this car is petrol since i sat inside. it does not sound like diesal car. diesal cars will have more vibrations and noisy inside.
With a grunt i answered "diesal cars in dubai must be noisy because they don't know fiat,in India it is very much different and better than petrol car." hehe.

I though till this service you had very good experience with KVR.In one of your pic you posted i best photographs ,the mudflaps has already lost that dark punto red color I think.Have you repainted?
I think diesel will be written on that fuel cap.Anyway, only diesel is fllled.I'm suprised that people in abroad don't know fiat!I think fiat sells bravo and 500 there.I think he didn't know that premier padmini was indeed a fiat!
OT:I found swift and punto diesel to sound similar whereas vista is not.Just my observation.Did you observe anything like that.
Edit: Could you please upload a latest picture of your punto you have taken in this thread:stupid:

I cannot very much say that experience is bad or great. it is like average always.

They (KVR) are co-operative and helpful .they do not try to wring on our neck moment we confront them though we cannot over rule human errors.
This time I had bad experience due to glow plug which had been promised to be fixed anytime I take the car to SS.

Cleaning off stiff dust and hard speck is time consuming job with diesal wash and care full rubbing. I don't know which Service centre would do all those detailed cleaning. AFAIK all will suggest to give it to third party paid cleaning stations which would be worth.
i just pointed it out just as an observation.
the mudflaps has already lost that dark punto red color I think.Have you repainted?
NO i did not repaint the mudflaps . let this monsoon be gone then only i can think of anything for her. Yes red colour faded. they ripped paint from rear right mudflap only.

I'm suprised that people in abroad don't know fiat!I think fiat sells bravo and 500 there.I think he didn't know that premier padmini was indeed a fiat!
Dubai ,middle east guys knows Ferrari and Abarth but no fiat. "fiat?? what is that, tire company?" that was the response from my friend who owns a mercedec benz and toyota service centre in Qatar.

i have forgotten how swift sounds in interiors .
Yeah Sure vista and punto90hp sounds very different. vista sounds more clattery while punto 90 is more sporty with vgt hum.

I think you own a swift let us meet and compare if you have time.

I have no doubt that TATA motors service centres treat the Fiat line as a step-brother since it is not their own brand. The attitude regarding the Fiat brand is not very assuring to customers.

Yes it is obvious as you see most of the tata service centres remain crowded with thier own cars like indica, sumo, safari . where fiat again is extra baggage. It becomes highly difficult to handle all sort of vivid customers simultaneously fiat owners are definitely not like Tata owners .
Still, fiat have separate staffs and departments in almost all tata SS, unfortunately they all share one single roof which means they would share machines, technicians ,space, et al. hence the mess up!!

I am getting a good response from them(KVR) so far because, they try as much as they can and I stay in close contacts with them. I get enough time to discuss issues, problems, best time for good service etc.
It is Fiat itself responsible for all such goof ups. they did not set up separate showrooms, service centres or trained technicians yet. which is the most unfortunate thing. Tata themselves cannot cater to each and every requirement of a foriegn technology all alone.

forgot to add. the "check glow plug" in mid remains on with glow plug indicator blinking for 5 seconds only after start , then it becomes normal.

Jaydev my car doesn't have a glow plug.
It starts within one crank in all conditions.

And one impt thing is, if you crank at one go and car doesn't starts, you should not crank the engine immediately.
Crank it after 5 seconds , else there will be humogonous load on alternator and battery inturn.

Hmmm so typical TATA A.S.S problems is it. Till i had my Safari even i found the cleaning to be only average but with Aria going for 2 services so far , cleaning both Interior and exterior has been top notch!

Modern day diesels NVH levels are increasing with each generation. When Verna and Fiesta came at 2006 they had good NVH levels which made people change their thinking not all diesels are rough and unrefined. But these modern day diesels like Punto and Vento are amazing! When i compare my Verna with my friend's Vento or your Punto , my Verna is a donkey braying at anything above 100kmph! Whereas my friend's vento is silent and rock-solid even till 140kmph! Have to check whether Fluidic Verna also has improved with age. I love modern day diesels , silent and refined!

Jaydev I am planning to buy Punto 90 HP. Read a lot of reviews and i am all set to go for it. Got to know from all the reviews that the stock HU & Speakers does not do the justice for a music lover.... I own Ritz and have fitted Rock ford fosgate Component speakers with tweeter in the front.
Just want to know can we fit after market tweeters into the slot in Punto....

No, you cannot.
There are no slots for any thing after market in punto.
Btw Ritz s a good car why you want to buy punto90 hp?

Ritz is a good car in mileage and its interior space but the suspension and handling is very bad. Bcoz of its tall boy design it gives a thud sound in every smallest pot hole and you can feel it in your back. Plus it has a very bad body roll while driving.
The main reason for me to choose Punto is the suspension and handling which every one is praising about. I loved the look of it. I am yet to take a TD.
