Only issue is woofer eating up boot. Can you dismantle it ? What is that small one inch dia thing "tweeter" ?

I am sure you must be having gala time while driving. But do you drive alone often or with people around.

yes that is what i meant with plug n play connector. pull out those banana plugs and take out the woofer.!!

yes that is polk audio tweetor ,part of comp system the speaker sits inside the panel.

But do you drive alone often or with people around.

not with many people but one in passenger seat is a must for me. and btw strangely i dont like people in rear seat!!

yes sure i love "good" music. the box would be wrapped in black leather or some thick fabric, but later . i cant wait for the final finish..let me enjoy it now!!

Share the pics once things are completed. Sometime in the future, also think of a fibreglass enclosure of the woofer, so that the entire bot space won't be eaten up

DID 6000KM .


engine oil looks jet black but still in oily fluid nature.

cleaned the air filter by tapping with a brush and blowing hard ,oh my god that was real dusty something like mini sandstorm came out of it.

cleaning air filter really did show the difference. a huge difference in throttle response!!!!

she is getting smoother and smoother for every km covered.

pick up increased greatly, shows a rev happy ready to run nature, which is really a huge difference from the initial performance.

gear levers got more softer (notchy feeling is wearing out)

engine sounds more smooth and matured .

pedal placement still makes me feel annoyed which could be ignored only for soft clutch and well weighted accelerator pedal.

ground clearance is bit nasty for typical kerala rural roads...i may have heart attack any time soon.

ride quality remain exceptionally great, as usual with Punto'sl!!

sorry for over speeding in india, fortunately got a chance on clear straight highway , early morning..
maximum speed achieved at each gears at maximum rpm(full accelerator press)
1-40kmph
2-70kmph
3-110kmph
4-150 kmph (seen on speedo by me)
(previously i posted 145km/h which was noted by co-passenger may be the error due angle of vision )
5- not yet tested but did 160kmph at 4000rpm only once!!

I have a doubt -

How do you lock the doors manually? I know about autoclose & it locks all the doors above 20kmph. But suppose if I am not driving & I want to lock all the doors, then?

When I lock the driver's door, only that door seems to lock, the others are still unlocked!

hi raj,
without the keys ,punto cannot be locked from outside.( normally in other vehicals we latch from inside and shut the door with external latch being pulled is not applicable in punto.)
imo it is good as there is no chance for us locking the car with keys inside.

pushing the door lever deeper. should be the locking.. if any of the door is opened then it doesn't lock .
similarly any door is opened all door locks are released .

Sorry, this is what i intended to ask.

Suppose we are sitting inside the car in the driver's seat. we start the car but without moving the car, we want to lock all the doors. just by locking the driver's door, the other doors dont lock. surprisingly, if you lock the front passenger's door, all the doors lock.

strange , it should be vice versa..!! in my car every kind of control is from drivers seat and imo it should be so.
maybe you should consult fiat service personnel. it should be something with some internal settings , our punto is highly flexible when it comes to programming and electronics.
even all four windows auto up and down can be programmed but , they left us with all four windows auto down and only driver window auto up (sigh) they wont do it for some reasons.

you are right. Somehow, I feel my car is programmed for the left hand drive market!

I cant lock all the doors from inside & I have to rely on the autolock & reach a speed of 20 kmph to lock all the doors!
