In a friend's Punto even unlocking the front passenger side unlocks all doors

unlocking any door in front unlocks all the doors . but locking all doors simultaneously happens with driver side door only.

but but ...but, doors if unlocked while on the move it locks itself again with a beep .

my sweet heart is aging 6534km.
she has gotten super smooth engine, smooth gear shift, soft clutch and an incredible drive comfort presently with increased rev happy engine.
no rattles or sqeaks or whatsoever.

just out of curiosity did the 0-100 km dash today along with my brother holding a stop watch .
and she returned
13.7 , 13.8, 13.5. 13.6 13.7 sec
five times we did on flat road. truly a huge difference from 15 -16kmph initially.!!

mileage returns ar 19kmpl for light pedal hw and city mix(70-80kmph max on highway )
and 14-15.6 kmpls for bit hurried and hard on accelerator.
and total average of 17.5 kmpl. not bad rather impressive perfomance i am flattered as my previous indica vista used to give something around 15-16 kmpl of average.!!

today i am bit sad because of my punto ,as she has been fooling me around since begining with her speedo error .
just pulled out some interesting facts and figure from some other website. but not quite sure as how far they are trueyet i do not mind they are not a big let down .

what i figured out was most of the cars from other brands had even worse speedo error and comparitively punto was much better.!!

Jayadev, its not only the Punto which has got speedo errors. None of the cars has a perfect odo, there are some minor errors can be recorded using Speed recorders, Data loggers etc.

Jayadev , its been a while since i read your report now! 13.6s is a good figure for 0-100kmph dash!


FE is good considering the solid build quality too! Speedo error occurs is almost all cars i guess.

punto doing 7000km

sorry dhaya, i have parted with my punto on 15th feb. now i am in abroad. so..
let me tell you what happened on my way to airport.


well , what i think is speedo error in punto is just a spoof.
my brother was behind the wheels and it was slope, a straight road. i heard the overspeed beep in punto and saw 70-75kmph in speedo . i warned my brother for police with speed check cameras. and he reduced the speed. after a few moments at a distance saw police guys waving his hands for us . we stopped . the guy came to us and informed that "your car is overspeed- 75kmph ,go and see the inspector." inspector was preparing the bill and asked to pay rs300/-.
brother felt very upset to see me paying 300 for his mistake. anyway i was not feeling that bad as he never goes above 70 and he enjoys driving slow and sedate but it was just a bad luck or something like that.
anyway he dropped me at airport . i could see some kind of guilt and unhappiness on his face so i convinced him saying that "just be happy that our kerala police is doing at least this much for us ,so we will have safer road from those deadly buses and trucks whom goes beyond 100kmph regularly and let us hope they do check those vip and ministers too, whom cannot travel in cars slower than 120kmph " .

punto:- as usual she is running smoothly .she has totally lost her initial hickups and jerks while gear changes .
