Hyundai sonata, tucson, mahindra logan, estilo, skoda fabia cannot be called as failed cars. Fabia sold in good numbers and logan is very popular with cabbies.

Skoda Fabia
these are flop cars??? especially the logan? i see many logans on mumbai roads. go to bangalore, you will be flooded by logans on the roads. see mery cabs, they are all logans.

estilo & fabia are lesser but cannot be termed as flop.

Some cars are not made to sell in volumes, so certainly they can not be termed as "failed". As a very simple example, can you call a Rolls Royce Phantom as failed or flop car just because it has very few buyers? Definitely No.

Honda Jazz is not a successful model, I think, consider the segment it belong to.

Maini Reva is not a failed model. We don't feel Reva that much as EV segment in Indian car market is still picking up. However, they are keeping up with their expectations in India and are doing really good in international market.

Flops/Failures also depends on expected sales vs actual sales.
If VW Bettle sales 100 per month, it certainly is not flop, but if VW Polo would sell 100 per month, it certainly is.

Similarly, maruti A-Star is not selling less (compared to so many), but since it is from Maruti's table, low sales means this car is flop in the market.

Well, precisely that’s what my point was. Also, there are other aspects such as competition on which success or failure depends.

There was another car I remember launched in 90s, the Mahindra-Ford Escort. The look was good at that time and as ford was newly launched in JV with mahindra people got it but its engine was not well refined and soon the model got knocked out.Still it was there for 2-3 years.I still remember little of its ads by Leander Paes.

The Ford Escort never actually had a great sales chart, but IMHO, it was not a flop, or for that matter, a complete flop. It was launched in 1996 and sold until 1999, after which during the start of Y2K, it vanished with the advent of the Ikon in 1999.

OPEL Corsa SAIL
Opel Vectra
Hyundai Terrecan
Hyundai Tucson
Maini(now Mahindra) Reva Is not a Flop. You can see too many cruising around Bangalore and OK numbers around the metros.
Hyundai Sonata Not that bad a flop, it sold in decent amounts. The embera is a flop, if I'm not wrong.
Mahindra Logan
Estilo(not sure, though)
Premier Rio
Nissan X-Trail It sold in decent numbers and was bought by the customers it was targeted at in decent no.s
Nissan Teana It is somewhat a limited edition car and hence sells in limited numbers.
Skoda Fabia
Superb(prev. generation)
San Storm
Tata Xenon

Thats all i can think off currently.

Will be back when i get more.

I don't know if these have been ,mentioned before, as I'm new here, but these all were miserable flops -
1. Standard 2000
2. Tata Estate(maybe not too bad a flop as other models mentioned though)
3. Sipani D1/Dolphin
4. Rover Montego(from Sipani)
5. Premier Sigma,.
6. Mahindra Classic (correct me if I'm wrong)

Was the Maruti 1000 a flop?

Sigma is not a car, it is a tata ace sort of vehicle.
Estate sold in decent numbers in its time
Classic/MM540 was a great sucess.

Sigma was a Versa/Eeco sort of vehicle. It came with the option of 3 row A/c too. The classic was a premium version of the MM540, with bucket seats, mag wheels an such, I'm not really convinced it sold well.

How about this?

Mahindra voyager.

Aaah, the Voyager based on a Mitsubishi van.
It was a partial flop. Most of its sales accounted for Ambulances. It was a deserving van, but was launched tad too late, in 1996. Had it been launched in 1990, it would have sold better.
