Only dusters petrol version is affected since it has a 1.6 liter engine .

Even if they price it Cheaper, how it will workout if they release it after next budget.

mother Ford is still carrying EcoSport baby for almost 15 months [lol]

Ford doesn't have a good auspicious date in their calender to release EcoSport [frustration]

According to firstpost, the term SUV is not correctly defined in our country. i.e., no clear cut guideline to term a vehicle SUV

What I found somewhere else is:
"The SUV classification as per the budget guidelines is -
> 4m length
> 1.5 l engine
> 170 mm ground clearance"
but I don't know whether it is correct or not

I guess Ecosport doesn't fall into the SUV category.

my 1st post in TAI, and I have 2 news to share with you all regarding the ford ecosport;

1 good and 1 bad.

1st the good (confirmed) :-

The ford ecosport is going to be on display at the infinity mall malad west from 15th march to 17th march.

bad 1 :-
the launch might be much later than we all are anticipating, around may-june 2013?!?

One way its good, cuz by then there might be some info on Chevy Trax, Alpha X and may be Taigun(or what ever its called). But if all that's true then definitely there is some major issue with Ford Ecosport. I won't be placing my money on it blindly without proper customer feedback [evil].

Hello All,

Even if we are all awaiting the ecosport so eagerly, I would like to know anticipated real world fuel economy of ecoboost.

Some links which put a doubt in mind are

Stupid Technology: EcoBoost engines

Brazil's INMETRO measures Ford EcoSport's fuel economy

I also read at other sites the engine may be superb but real world fuel economy (for ecoboost) is 22-30% off the claimed figures.

I am really thinking if to wait for ecosport or buy some other car considering the rate at which petrol prices are increasing.

Any comments?

I think this assumption is perhaps realistic in real world conditions given the size of the vehicle.

actually we have to wait and see

the first url reads some details and definition on generic turbocharger and they concluded with out actually testing the ecoboost engine

the second url they checked the mileage on 1.6-litre 16V Sigma flex-fuel engine and telling 1.0-litre, telling about 3-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine in india will give only 13 on city and 15 on highway., this sounds like after having halwa and telling even green chilly tastes sweeter.
they have to test the mileage of EcoBoost engine to tell about ecoboost engine mileage in india.



am not in a hurry even if ford releases ecosport tomorrow i may buy it after an year or more and i do not trust some article that talks about ecoboost or what so ever technology with out actually testing it.
