From what I have learnt is that if you want good FE dont drive in turbo range. Want power jump on to turbo range. SO it gives you best of both.

That's why it is good saying that "To get the best out of anything, You need to know that thing properly".

Below 1700rpm i guess.
And in petrol there would be stark difference when turbo gets activated. So TD can help.

Differs from car to car. Same FIAT engine in Swift and Ritz and Vista and Punto have different RPM range when TURBO kicks in.

Somewhere I read that the 1L ecoboost engine when run with heavy load (say 4 person + luggage in boot) it does very poor mileage. The reason mentioned was due to its turbocharge which works continuously to generate the power that is required to pull that much of weight. However in ideal condition say 2 people the engine performs normal and fuel economy improves. The claimed mileage for this engine is 17/18kmpl in city. So how true is this information and is this mileage calculated with a heavy load on the vehicle?

I strongly agree here, when at high load, to generate the required power(based on your accelerator action), more fuel is supplied and to support the combustion more air is supplied(turbo charger), BUT since the capacity of the cylinders limited (1 Ltr), most of the fuel will not burn and will be exhausted. That is where the mileage would drop. If it was the larger displacement engine then story would have been different at high load. I feel only after the TD you get the real picture. I have a feeling that Ecosport would be appreciated by people who light foot the accelerator. For heavy footers there might be a mileage penalty.
Now I understood the meaning for 'Urban Commuter' [evil]

It says
The diesel could start between Rs 6.99-Rs 7.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Ford is also keen on keeping the top-end diesel versions price below the Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) mark since cars higher than this price have to pay higher registration charges in Delhi/NCR (12.5 percent instead of 8.75 percent of the cars ex-showroom price).
This will be a killer pricing if they give ABS/Airbag in middle variants also.

Do we really have turobcharge engine in these cars? (ritz,vista,punto) I guess the turbocharged engine we are talking here for ecosport is different than what these cars might have.

Keyless ignition.
Does ecosport top end comes with this feature? As per the article at

Launch on 4th? Well I must say if this is true, its a very silent and sedate launch! After-all this baby monster was so much talked about for the last 12 months and at-least I was expecting a grand launch with a prior launch notice of 6 to 10 days.

Btw, I guess no one else has seen this post, posted by ''Jobs'' but everyone is just busy discussing about the Turbo boost and stuff...lol

Let Ford launch the vehicle and everyone will be able to get their hands on it and try the turbo in person.

Well, I would be more than happy if Ford really launches it on 4th of March, but the probability is very slim.

Union budget will be announced tomorrow & Ford might be waiting for this to decide the ecosport pricing. So 4th March launch might be possible. Also the news came from BBC TopGear.

Ford is just waiting for that union budget, it is confirmed and the ES can be launched any time after that friends[:)] So wait for a big day very soon
