Raja, I have a specific question with respect to the frontal visibility. Did you feel that the dashboard to be too high? I am asking this because in one of the videos it did look to be high.

yes it is high and the edge to edge bonnet view from the drivers seat is similar to many hatch backs and not like you get say in Scorpio,bolero,storme or sumo.

The Ford EcoSport is starting to become the case of the Chevrolet Sail and Enjoy, with respect to the number of spyshots that keep pouring into our inbox.

Here is another set which was sent in by our attentive reader Mr. Rex Peter. Mr. Peter caught the mini SUV on a highway near Chennai. Powered by the EcoBoost engine, the mule is a top end Titanium variant.

He even managed to get a close up shot of the car’s alloy wheels, headlamps and badges. It has to be said that the crossover SUV looks the part even in real world conditions.
There is enough said about the Ford EcoSport. The SUV which made its global premiere in India back in January 2012 at the Delhi Auto Expo, has already reached the marketplace in countries like Brazil, China and Mexico.

The Ford EcoSport will be available with both petrol and diesel engines in India. The tech-laden 1.0 litre Ecoboost direct injection turbocharged petrol engine has been confirmed by the company. Ford India has not commented on the diesel engine, launch

The identification sticker throws some light on the mule’s specifications.
Based on the Fiesta platform, the EcoSport has created a big buzz among the Indian auto enthusiasts and prospective customers alike. The number of people writing to us wanting to know the launch date of the EcoSport so that they can conclude their purchase decision is increasing day by day!

This is getting interesting! After a lots (and lots…) of spyshots and spy videos of Ford Ecosport, we have a couple of interesting pictures in hand.

Uptil now, we have shared the Duster vs Ecosport pictures twice, both of them were not from India. PowerDrift has, from somewhere, got these two pictures where the upcoming Ecosport is seen parked besides the Renault Duster. The Ecosport is in its promotional Red Mars attire, whereas the Duster is in handsome black.



From these two pictures, the Ecosport looks smaller, which it is, but more so because of the angle of the pics. Duster also looks more butch whereas the Ecosport looks stylish. The Duster is the diesel variant for sure, going by the dCI badge at the rear, the Ecosport also appears to be the TDCI diesel variant.



The place looks some kind of a parking spot near a port with those big shipping containers stacked one over the other. Now, Ecosport is a company owned car with temporary registration, the Duster’s whereabouts are little confusing. At the front it carries showroom ‘Registered’ sticker whereas inside the car, the ‘TN’ temporary plates are placed. What are these cars doing together? Is this a mere coincidence? Are these cars all set for a media comparo drive? No, we aren’t sure!

But these pictures do give a sense of how, in India, both the most sought after compact SUVs will look side by side.

Yes dharmesh, totally agree with you.

Thanks Raja for posting some new info.

Duster is more SUVish, traditional looks. Make you think that its rugged and strong. On the other hand Ecosport, is more stylish and make one think as a futuristic, advanced technologically and more urban. I am sure there will be buyers for both. The interior and the features offered by Ecosport has mile apart from Duster. For me its Ecosport, Its exactly what I am looking for. Daily drive to office, live in city environment, sneak through traffic, meeting friends, socializing, occasional HW trip out(on road no off-roads [evil])

One alarming thing I read that first ES will be available to big cities in North India and south India later [frustration].

Raja, you are the man! stirred up more interest to this thread more than Ford.

The new design of the Ecosport brings back the same kind of feeling in me, when Honda did the all new Honda City, used to keep my eyes wide open to spot any thing about the City back then in 2009 I guess.

Its an urban commuter with more style flair with it compared to duster which is more mean rugged commuter.
Waiting for its official launch with pricing they offer.

Gentlemen visibility of the bonnet is never really a practical issue, when you buy a new car everything needs adapting for a few days. Yes different cars will have blind spots that requires you to be careful while certain maneuvers - thats about it!
As an analogy you dont need to look at your legs while walking or jogging or even jumping over obstacles, in a similar way the car becomes an extension. The Human eye and brain can brilliantly adapt!

So dont worry about such aspects and enjoy the ride rather![:D]

RonnS, same situation here too. Yesterday while shopping, i heard people having a discussion on Ecosport's design, 4M length, comparision with Duster etc. Ecosport has managed to grab the attention of the people who love cars and follow automobile news. The rest is with FORD to price it right and capture the market. This thread is being followed by a mass group of Ecosport fans and Raja Bro adds charm to it often.

I think this is trend now to just show to teaser to the customer and make them wait for a year or so and then launch the product. This creates more excitement amongst the customers. But I hope the wait is worth in each case (especially in teh case of EcoSport).
