Pricing being the only key that remains now everything else seems perfect for me. There must be lots of buyers Like me who would prefer utility over creature comforts. Ground clearance being one of the desired feature. I always used to think why manufactures can't give us a no nonsense hatchback with a good ground clearanc? why one has to buy a SUV if he wants a good GC to take the abuse from or great Indian roads. I drive a humble 800 and it cries while going over the roads of my village. None of the hatchback till date could motivate me enough to replace it as I always knew that the plight of these cars will be the same as my 800. At one point I had started to think to buy a bolero to compete with pathetic roads which was absolutely turned down by the family. Duster came and was priced beyond what it should (read overpriced for abs variant), quanto is too crude to be used as a family vehicle in my opinion(though I still believe its one of the most practical car available in the market today). Ecosport seems to fulfill my long awaited dream of buying something compact with good GC and something that can be used by everyone in the family be it city our highway. Keeping my fingers crossed. If pricing is spot on my wait for a replacement is over.

P.S. My love for safari is still there and growing everyday but it has to wait for some more time I guess.

Simply wow... awesome. Initially I thought the price would start as low as 5.9L, however looking at the hype and more and more positive feedbacks, it looks they (Ford) will keep the price premium only. Whatever be the price, but should not cross 10L.

The hype has come down after many reviews and public appearances. They should price it at i20 level, else they will not reach their target sales. Also people wanting real mini SUVs would go for Duster as its more Macho and big.
In pictures ES looks big but in life, it is the same size as Polo by length (without the wheel) and height of a Wagon R. Ultimately the manufacturing cost would remain low so hopefully they would pass this to the customers. As of other features like Sync, I dont think the Licenses would cost more than Rs 5000 with Microsoft, since you know a windows Phone can come withing 10000 that too with hardware. this is just the software with a few features only.

Here’s an Ecosport in Kinetic Blue. It won hearts of some fellow journalists. I’d still prefer Mars Red though.

Great did you drive the diesel also ?
Nope. I'm expecting to do that next month when Ecosport debuts in India.

And can you pls shed some light on the variants available .?
This specification sheet of Indian Ecosport answers that question.

Wow! refreshing designs by Ford. I think they will offer all shades with extraordinary gloss like the orange and blue ones here.

I was wondering if the rear spare tyre is detachable. Is that possible?
