Have spent over 400kms on new Yoko C-drives in a mix of highway/expressway and city driving and i must say i am thoroughly impressed with its handling and ride quality.

OEM NCTs are completely rubbish in comparison, mine was a good year. Also the upsize is perfect and gives no problems whatsoever (apart from offcourse the minor speedo error now).

I did a max of 135 kmph just to get a feel of the tyre on the expressway on an empty stretch and it felt completely planted including curves, the grip levels are phenomenal and the tyres dont screech on tight bends at reasonable speeds.
By no means i would suggest u try that speed , i only wanted to check the tyre performance that too for a very short burst - its simply not safe no matter which car it is and u are out of your mind to be speeding on an expressway(including me for the above 30 secs )

Havent had a chance to test it in wet yet, but i am told c drives are fantastic in wet.
Also FE differences is currently being monitored and will be reported after a couple of tankful to tankful tests.
i am using michelin plc..they are good..by the way what FE are you getting from your car?

Well i probably forgot to mention my father drives too and we are split among several locations for business reasons - we already have the xuv(and the sumo too) - but need another suv eventually - otherwise inevitably the civic gets to put through harsh roads - which is heart breaking for me.

Well the other option is to keep the civic and buy another suv lol us auto enthusiasts we are crazy indeed!!
iron rock i think civic is not as delicate as you think ...trust me i have taken my on good roads ,bad roads ,no roads and the worst places any civic owner could imagine...it always takes me there with smiles..all the way...

Yes michelin are good and less noisy and a tad more expensive. I got a good deal on Yoko C Drives - so went for it, it would have been michelin otherwise.

I get between 14-15.5 in a mix of city and expressway runs, 70% expressway and 30% city. I do drive sedately.

I never meant they are delicate, i have put it through on farm roads, all i mean i just dont have the heart to put it through it - its too classy for it and good looking for it. Offcourse i have not known a civic owner who hasnt smiled while driving the car, its an absolute delight - an ageless design! [:)].

.
U are getting 14 kmpl in Civic, thats really surprising as i thought that civic's FE would be around 9-11 kmpl. My City is giving me around 13kmpl. How you drive dude?? Thats really an amazing figure.[clap]

Well you would be amazed what the i-vtec engine can deliver, but i must say the hard part is the restraint, here are a few things i do :-

1) Good anticipation and less braking , lot of coasting where possible.(you can call me a boring driver generally)
2) Never over rev(it is very easy to do that in a city/civic and you wont even recognise it), sedate driving, drive at 90 at the expressway in top gear( its very difficult doing that in the civic i must admit) - keep your right foot very light :)
3) Keep the oil filter and oil clean and always at level.
4) manage gear changes at optimal speeds for fuel efficiency.

I have known civics giving even 17-18 kmpl when driven even more sedately not exceed 60-65kmph. The best i have got personally using the tankful method is 16.5 not exceeding 85kmph. Its also to do with the fact that i do a lot of expressway driving at leisurely speeds. In the city only cycle i would get about 11.5 - 12.5 kmpl. All of this with the ac on most of the times.

my city gives 15-16kmpl in city driving. all you have to do is to drive sanely at speeds of 55 to 65kmph, shifting gears accordingly to get maximum mileage, stop thd engine whenever possible, maintain a constant speed and do not do excessive braking unnecessarily.

cheers.

Sorry for my late reply buddy, been out and about with the XUV - so havent had much time to even drive the civic, must say the civic running is considerably less now ever since i have had my hands on the XUV, primarily because for long runs the XUV is proving much cheaper on my pockets.

There are some long pending job on the civic like a nice polishing job - hopefully i should do it within this month and then i promise a full and proper photoshoot - long pending i know.

Hi Lxi i dont intend to spend anything on the mods, i am intending to sell it lalter half of this year and replace it with a SUV, for my running i really need a diesel.
But yes it will be heart breaking to sell it - i need to find a owner who would take good care of it..

Try to find your FRIEND or a known person to sell it. Only a FRIEND can take care (not that)of it.
So, NOW WHICH ONE? ARIA?

selling to friend or aquaintance - i am always uncomfortable with..simply because its a deal where i want the maximum back, i wonder though how much i would get for my civic (its in immaculate condition)..

looking for a good upgrade - it wont be an indian brand SUV this time in all probability..
