I have had my engine mounts replaced by the dealer about a year and a half ago. Paid more than 10K, I think. Can I reclaim this amount from Honda? Do I go to the consumer court?

I feel they should have replaced it free of cost, as they were faulty. They are doing this now. All this was told to me by the workers at the dealership also.
There is no harm in speaking/writing to Honda about it highlighting your case. Was your car in warranty then ? But the mounts do get bad with harsh riding habits too especially in our pothole ridden holes !

Really nice pics and your civic is looking like a new one and looking good as usual. Nicely maintained buddy.

+1000 to that. I also like the eight generation far better than the ninth one as i think that the look was the of the eigth generation was the USP which is now simply gone.
Thank you mate, hows your civic doing ? keeping you busy doing travelogues i guess [:)]

Your ownership review helped me a lot to chose between the civic or the city.I feel very bad that civic is out of production.[cry] The reason why I did not buy one was because of the ground clearance because of which my friends civic has a huge dent on the floor below the driver seat. But it was available with a HUGE discount.

Thanks mate, well the GC issue is more of a long wheel base and softly sprung suspension issue, it can be easily done away by using a rubber bush which prevent the coil springs from sinking down.

I have heard mixed news about Honda discontinuing civic in India, but the reality is they need a diesel badly, am sure they are aware of it given the work ongoing with Amaze and rest of their diesel line up plans for india market.

The Amaze will amaze the Indian market, it will shakeup that segment really(hope they price it right)

So if I modify coil springs, will it effect the overall stability of the car or handling? I am not worried about ride. But stability is important and that's where the civic is a class ahead of the city.

@Theferrarifan:
Have you heard of a car called Skoda Laura TSi??(I recommend this car to everyone, even Iron Rock too)
Since you were planning to go for a Civic, then why not test the TSi once?
Rest here is a small comparo, actually I find this one quite accurate too(at least 90% accuracy is there):

There would be hardly any perceptible difference, but given the situation of civic now i wouldn't recommend it not as a brand new car atleast, a used one makes sense.

If you are in the market for a petrol, as the gentleman(arguably:tongue:) below suggests try the TSI if you can find a way to live with Skoda A.S.S

@ Iron rock -Na the Tsi was not a gentleman's car but a complete hooligan on a rocket. 165 is just cruising in that. 160 PS of turbo petrol power coupled with brilliant handling and brakes made it perfect for me. Until it hit a divider [cry]
