There would be hardly any perceptible difference, but given the situation of civic now i wouldn't recommend it not as a brand new car atleast, a used one makes sense.
+100, right now buying a new Civic will be like an investment being put on a company which is gonna be bankrupted...
BTW..you bought City I guess!!
Conclusion: I am late..

If you are in the market for a petrol, as the gentleman[clap](TSIVipul) suggests try the TSI if you can find a way to live with Skoda A.S.S
Living with Skoda A.S.S.!! Hehe, people have hyped it like hell(BTW, dear sir, how was your experience with Skoda?), else Skoda is a lot improved now. Still, since you addressed me as a gentleman so let me act like one.

@ Iron rock -Na the Tsi was not a gentleman's car but a complete hooligan on a rocket. 165 is just cruising in that. 160 PS of turbo petrol power coupled with brilliant handling and brakes made it perfect for me. Until it hit a divider
At the end I got someone who can explain people that speed limit automatically increases to 160 in TSi. Thanks a lot buddy.
Right you are, the shove that starts from 2000 rpm and ends at 6000 can't be explained to anyone, especially when they drive turbo diesels which have only 1500 fun filled revs!!
All I know is, start..push till 40 in first and then keep shifting at 3500 and you end up doing 180-190 in 6th gear at the end.
BTW, yours hit divider and gone..mine hit a truck and went in chauffys' hand!![cry] Hence proved, the car is lethal!![clap]

I was referring to TSIVipul with my gentleman comment, nevertheless i think your description might match too
I am unable to make out how the description may match. Still let me think..
Eh, examination time generally keeps me out of mind!!

I was buying the civic as a replacement for the WagonR not laura. For lauras replacement I am saving
Haha, even I too if there is anything below A4 3.0 TDI which can act as a perfect replacement of TSi??[confused]

My experience with Skoda was actually good, but that was in UK, they used to charge a bomb just for OBD diagnosis but they knew their job well.

I agree the negative aspects are hyped up, but skoda have let their dealers run amok - that's the indisputable reality - they have good cars, but they need to have good dealers as well. Reputation is lost easy but gaining it back is the harder part.

@ TSiVipul yeah when you drive a TSI you do become a rash driver. Mine had a remus exaust with strut rods so I drove it like a maniac. Thats why it hit a divider. Now I drive a little easier than before. Replacement? Accord V6 maybe.
And I agree with Iron Rock

Weather Honda or Skoda or Toyota, I have seen that overall maintenance is always on the costlier side or say spare prices, general charges etc are higher than that of our local manufacturers.
But then, on the scale of what we get out of our money, it's not horrifying at least at the end. AGREE?? You should, because you said "They knew their job well".

[frustration]
In this case I am like a rat trapped in a Civic who has a lot to do but not a way to get out!!

Mine is stock..
Only a Superb V6 4X4 can replace a Laura TSi none else.

The superb V6 is out of production and is not as fast or advanced as the accord. Accord is better imo.
Wrong info buddy..Superb 3.6 V6 still sells and has an AWD system too.

Err, we are going severe OT, this is a civic thread, lets restrain a bit!
Mod saving his thread from getting hijacked!!
Okay, returning back to topic.. all I feel is that instead of buying a Civic, now buying a TSi or Corolla sounds more practical.
BTW, Iron Rock, why haven't you took the car to A.S.S. for getting the rat out?

One last post Iron rock sorry[lol]
Skoda Superb India Technical Specifications

The V6 4x4 is out. It was imported anyways and did not sell well.
This is what the brochure has to say..oops,I guess they have done it..in june or july I guess. Eh, I forgot it.

Now back to civic- The civic makes more sense to buy new now because of the huge cash discounts.
But a TSi makes more sense and carries a lot of discounts to throughout the year.

Not much updates to this thread for long , the civic's running has been limited to city only, but this weekend decided to do the mumbai run in the civic - was starting it after 6 weeks(yeah my bad!) so had my doubts if the battery gave up on me , but it hadn't - started like a dream and the long run ensured the battery got its juice back.

It simply runs like a dream - the i-VTEC is marvellous piece of engineering - never ever fails to disappoint - The C-Drives tyres have a mind blowing grip in the wet twisty ghats. The civic handling and braking is quite simply astonishing and pasted a big smile on my face!

Changed the wipers as they were well over 3 years old and nearly shredded, put a Hella Dynaedge !

Btw it makes me think now in terms of petrol engine refinement which comes closest to the i-VTEC (in the sub 15 lakh range) ?

IR i would need your help, one of my friend has zeroed in on a pre-used civic in an excellent condition which has done about 50K kms, the confusion is according to the dealers all civic car's would need a engine mounting replacement at every 50K kms which should cost around 40Krs is it true? and in general how expensive is civic to maintain in the long run?

Visran Apologies missed this message completely, engine mounts in the civic are fickle and eventually need replacement , but 40K is a serious joke! I remember replacing mine some 20k ago for some 4k odd - Civic or for that matter Honda have aquired a reputation for being expensive simply because they didnt use to sell much (atleast till 2 months back) and the dealers do all that they can to inflate bills.

My suggestion is to buy OEM parts outside and get it serviced outside as well - it will be much cheaper and as good as a entry level sedan in terms of costs of maintenance.

IR my friend has a question for you, should he go for silver Civic which has done 37K change, 2008 Model amazingly maintained (as good as your car) but i will be the 3rd owner

Or any other car 40-50K, 2006 Done Metallic Blue where i will be 2nd owner neatly maintained.

2) Does taking the car to HONDA Sevice station for checkup help you in any ways before buying a 2ndhand car as my friend is a rookie in this.

Would wait for your valuable inputs.
