That's right, but it is the fact, Verna selling like a hot cake as of now, If someone does not have patience to dig and detail out, isn't that a best option?
Well we can not ignore Honda City here as its just Petrol version and it has done really well IMO. But my loving New Fiesta is not even in the graph [frustration].

I have a verna and it's overhyped just because of the design and features.

And someone planning a fiesta sees this adv. his reaction will be no fiesta in the list = bad car. And i'm sure fiesta has its own advantages and disadvantages. Every car has.

Off-Topic: There must be something about the City. A petrol car and still doing much better than others in a diesel brigade and that too at these times!

You are very right, I am looking at both Verna and New Fiesta, TDed both and find Fiesta to be very rigid, sporty and driver friendly. But poor sales numbers puts a shock always [frustration]. I read somewhere Ambassador's sales figures beat new fiesta ! But Verna is a 'Filled with features' car, and better looking interior. But a average buyer will close his eyes and buys Verna for sure.

Not OT,
That is the perfect example(Honda city) where a good car sells,
If some thing is extra ordinarily good it will sell good and continue selling good for sure, no matter petrol or the higher price.

@Alex

Every good car just can't sell good, we are the people who make any car sell either it is good or bad.

Example : New fiesta a excellent car, but can't sell in good numbers where as Verna sells and again Old fiesta sells.

So it is always we make a car a hit or flop with our "Herd"[lol]

Alex, I want to see your perspective on question RK posted, I always wonder what makes people to jump in to Verna building that huge sales figures! Is is the psychology or mass hypnosis or some scientific reason behind it?

Agree,

In the case of new fiesta it is new to the market, let more and more people experience it and let the qualities of the car reach the ears of the so called 'herd'
or
Let the verna owners find out that the car is not that good as they expected(only for an example) and let that bad publicity reach the 'herd', then the reverse will happen.

Better consistent one will sell and rule the market for sure.

The Honda city is selling for years and it is there for years and no body says it is a bad car.

@Indian

Bro i really do not understand why verna?
We had seen on many post on high oil consumption of fiesta is that the reason?
But we had seen verna Crdi fail at 75000 to 100000 kms.
Really do not know.

the main thing is to enjoy your ride [;)] and to give un-biased findings \ observations to others.
i'm not on cloud 9 after having the verna but i'm not too disappointed as well.

i'm sure changing the sales figure of the firsta won't change your experience with the car.

even if something is bad or a person is disappointed with something it doesn't mean that the other person will feel the same.

i told an unlce who was thinking of buying verna, about average mileage of verna , he responded by saying " it will give 10 kmpl right , no worries"

and to your last statement - i'm sure there must be thousands of customers disappointed by the city in one way or the another.

both verna petrol diesel are fuel guzzlers , so is the rapid so is the vento. many say honda city gives them 15kmpl in city traffic but i still don't believe it for some reason. if people say it's because of honda's engine , then brio should give 20+ kmpl.

and about the verna crdi , i think you are talking about turbo failure. in how many vernas this problem occurred ?

You are totally right, Every car has it's plus and minus, but the question is if the 'Plus' is in your wishlist and 'Minus' you are ready to ignore. If you can do it then that's the car you should buy.

Again I agree on the mileage, I have seen many people quote those extraordinary mileage but if you ask them they don't even know how to calculate the mileage! With the current fuel prices hardly anyone tops off the tank.

500 out of 1000 unsatisfied Honda city owners would be thinking of a more mileage'd diesel car for sure.

VernaD,FiestaD,VentoD,RapidD i still feel that VentoD will take over in some period of time.
And so i am not falling on the current sales figures.

As you mentioned before different persons will have different feel,
If people feel that Verna is a good car then let them buy it.

May be on 2012 model,I checked now in south no offer even Mud flap and Floor mats to be paid.
And the immediate delivery is because intelligent indian 'herd' did not book swift from october to january as they had a chance of getting a 2012 car.
The production was live these months resulting in an immediate delivery.

Please note the 2012 model cars back here were sold out with no discounts without booking as the booked people refuse to buy a 2012 model.
