+100, but when I buy something and want to keep it for 5 years minimum, then I will think of its comfort, reliability, peace of mind, driving pleasure. But never think of its sales numbers and never bother about its resale value, after 5 years according to the market situation and as per its brand value it will fetch what it has to, that's it. Those 5 years driving, ownership pleasure is important for me.[:)]

A hundred hugs to you from my side for writing this. And a thousand pats on your back too. How I wish everyone thought like this. Amen !

+ less maintenance cost,

That is my dream car!

I am waiting for it.

Such a car will sure have good sales figures and good re-sale, and so we need no bother on it.

When we were upgrading from our M800 the top selling charts hatchbacks were maruti tall boy WagonR and hyundai's Santro.
After numerous test drives and on the way back halted at tata's showroom 9 years back and then it was a taxi showroom known as.TD indica V2, the space it had inside, with a diesel mill and cheaper then Santro and WagonR made us have the deal and we booked the car.9 years of ownership i still say i was a very satisfied customer with what indica offered us served us along with it was a VFM product for theprice i paid and overall ownership we had.

Indica V2 Dls variant was 3.4L with 15k discount we got then.
WagonR Lxi was 3.65L with 20K discount
Santro was 3.9L dnt remember variant mid it was with 3.95L with 30K discount

I sold my indica at 1.25L
Would like to add, after buying indica my father who was strict for self drives out of town actually allowed to go on self drives, and we had some of the best tours together maybe it be a diesel vehicle we had, space it offered whatever it maybe but i was glad i ddnt brought a WagonR or Santro.[:)]

See you got a great price . Not only you bought a cheaper car , saved enough money on fuel and plus that used the car and what it had to offer for 9 long years and sold it at 1.25 lakhs . Not bad atall .

Absolutely RK AND Raja, i still say that as a previous tata vehicle owner, their vehicles are not bad i owned the first NA diesel mill and still that engine never really gave me any serious issue then the usual wear and care needed for every vehicle you buy.
Yes market is deprived with the sales figures and many people do buy the best selling vehicle with a trust in that brand and vehicle, but for me i priority is my needs, best options available and VFM product it should be for the amount i am paying.
As the case of my indica, i cannot ask the quality they should give me at the price i paid then, yes improvement rooms were there but not that much.
Below 3.5L costing vehicle, best space available in the segment, a diesel mill chunking 16+ on city and 20 on highway, what better could i ask for.

Indica V2 was the best selling Diesel car at 2003/2004.
At that time Vijay's father would have considered the best selling diesel car with good FE.
SwiftD took over at the end of 2004, and early 2005 with its launch.

Agree with you. While indica became a hit show with fleet owners, swift served the market for personal use.

SwiftD took over indica easily because swift was better than indica.
If punto, sail or vista is better than SwiftD then it will take over SwiftD for sure.
until then people will keep on buying SwiftD.

Thank you Raja,
Before SwiftD launch Indica V2 was the best selling diesel car, that was the point i was concentrating on, thanks.
SwiftP was launched on 2005 i guess.

Raja,a diesel car at 3.4L with 20Kms mileage, many fell on it.
WaghonR was the best selling Petrol car and Santro was giving a good fight.

Yes but in 2009

Indica was selling more then swift . Does that make swift a bad car ?
