Our forums is for helping out all our members, but sometimes it does happen that the thread is missed out, so relax friend, we will soon help you out with the problem. Welcome to The Automotive India, HQMark. Please be patient. You have bumped the thread within such short intervals. Back to query, this is what I am able to decode through a VIN decoder:

  • Region: Asia

  • Country: India

  • Manufacturer: Maruti

  • Model Specific: Unknown

  • Check Digit: Invalid

  • Year: 1998

  • Assembly Plant: 0

  • Serial Number: 289844

Hope this helps a little much.

Big thanks to your reply but this message not much helped me;
Like you see majority of important date in longer time are unknown:
Model Specific: Unknown; Check Digit: Invalid; Assembly Plant: 0
My car looks like Alto but it isn`t. It was named ONE but nowhere is message about model like this one. It is hatchback, 1.0i GL, 5dr I have to change Outer and Inner cv Joint on right side(passanger side in Europe) and to this is needed me OEM parts with codes. If I don`t have codes of Suzuki parts I cannot buy them and repair my already old car.
Kind Regards

Re: Decoding Vehicle Information Number (VIN)

Which car do you have? Maybe the model can help us get some info about the spare parts.
You have to know also that Suzuki(Alto too) are made in Hungary in Europe but my SuzukiONE like I wrote earlier, was bought in Israel. Problem with Joint is in thread. Some of them has M18,5mm,other M20mm and the next M19mm.
Which one is correct?

The problem is, we have many models of Alto selling alongside in India (Namely Zen, A-Star etc). The one you have posted above was previous generation Maruti Suzuki Zen for us, and I’m sure that its spare parts are still sold in our country. If you can be slightly more precise with your query, we can help you.

Please me sorry, but I don`t know how I would have to be slightly more precise in my query if I informed you about everything what is going on.
decode for me: VIN car MA3EFB11SW0289844. I need OEM codes also: right and left outer and inner cv joint to my car. That is all. From the beginning I informed at FORUM all the time about the same what I interested in.
Regards
