Eicher Electric Buses Complete One Year of Successful Operations in Kolkata

VE Commercial Vehicles Limited has completed a year of a successful run of its 100 per cent electric buses in Kolkata. The Eicher Skyline Pro E buses have been deployed with West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO) and have served over 1.6 lakh km carrying 1.3 lakh happy passengers till date.

Piaggio Commercial Inaugurates New Dealership in Chennai

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL) has extended its dealership network in India with the inauguration of a new dealership facility in Chennai. The dealership was inaugurated by Zonal Sales manager of South Zone1 Manian Natraj Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd, along with Pavan D.S., Dealer Principal- Ganga Motors. This new dealership will sell the entire range of Piaggio’s commercial vehicles under its flagship brands Ape’ & Porter. The range will be from both passenger and cargo category primarily focusing on LPG variant. As a part of its launch offer, a 1-gm gold coin will be given on every vehicle purchase from 12th July till 14th July 2019.

Odisha to Introduce Electric Buses to Curb Urban Air Pollution

Odisha government has been planning to introduce electric buses in phases in a bid to curb air pollution in urban areas in the state, the Assembly was informed.
While replying to a question, Science & Technology Minister Ashok Chandra Panda said electric buses will ply in the temple town of Puri and the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in the first phase.

"We are planning to phase out the conventional transport system through the electric buses. These new electric buses will operate within 100 km radius covering Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri," Panda said. Panda also informed the Assembly that a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed soon regarding the proposal.

Tata Motors Delivers 40 Electric Buses to Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation

Tata Motors has supplied 40 9m 900mm Floor Height Non AC buses to the Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation. The Hon'ble Governor of Jammu, Shri Satya Pal Malik, flagged off the buses, in the presence of Shri Arvind Ganpat Sawant, Hon'ble Union Minister for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises with other dignitaries from JKSRTC and Tata Motors at an event held in the city. Some of these buses are plying on the difficult terrains of the Jammu to Katra (Vaishno Devi) route and these electric buses will also ply on the valleys of Srinagar.

Mahindra Truck and Bus Division (MTBD) unveiled Mahindra Cruzio, a new range of buses based on the latest Intermediate Commercial Vehicles (ICV) platform. Aimed at the employee transport segment, the Cruzio marks the company’s debut in the popular Lastwagen Pullman Overhang (LPO) segment of buses which has been gaining momentum in recent times.

Ashok Leyland Launches Oyster Bus In India



Ashok Leyland has launched the its next generation A.C. midi-bus, in the premium category, in Indi and it's called Oyster. The Oyster has been designed and manufactured in-house, for staff and tourist commute. The Ashok Leyland Oyster comes with 41 reclining seats. The Oyster comes is rollover compliant and is also made in compliance with the bus code norms AIS 052, AIS 140 and AIS 153. The driver gets a tilt and telescopic steering, cable shift gear mechanism which helps in easing the drivability of the bus. The company has also provided wide reclining seats with arm rest and there are mobile charging points, integrated AC Louvers with reading lamp and side luggage booth provided for customers.

Eicher Trucks and Buses introduced the new Eicher 3009L Skyline Pro Staff AC Bus and Eicher 20.15R 12m bus chassis at Prawaas 2019 - India International Bus and Car Travel show in Navi Mumbai. The new offerings further expand the automaker's bus range with variants across different applications for schools, staff, route permit and intercity segment. Apart from Eicher, Tata Motors too showcased seven of its public transport commercial vehicles at Prawaas this year.

When will TATA get them onto the roads. But if launched, they should only carry the logo of HISPANO rather than TATA. They better get it as a new bus brand.

When will TATA get them onto the roads. But if launched, they should only carry the logo of HISPANO rather than TATA. They better get it as a new bus brand.
Magna bus already in market. Seen a couple of them in a bus fanning group, used by operators in Chandigarh and Assam. They carry Marco Polo badge.

Magna to me seems like watered down version of Paradiso bus.Paradiso bus was under testing when I read about it few years ago, then only Volvo and Mercedes were offering CBU multi Axel buses. That Tata messed up and Scania entered. Now the market is already saturated, and now Tata comes with Magna. and may be after few decades Paradiso.

Maharashtra First Electric Bus For Inter-City Commute Introduced

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has recently added the state's first inter-city air-conditioned electric bus to its fleet. Maharashtra joins a number of Indian states to offer this service including Himachal Pradesh, Kerala among others. The electric buses, like some of its other bus services like Shivneri, Ashwamedh, and Shivshahi, will be called Shivai or Shivaee, and is a 43-seater unit. The state transport body is set to procure 150 such electric buses that will connect various cities across Maharashtra, including the widely used Mumbai-Pune and Mumbai-Nashik routes.

Tata Motors Bags Contract To Supply 300 Electric Buses To Ahmedabad Janmarg



Tata Motors has announced that it has bagged the contract to supply 300 electric buses to the Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL). The automaker had previously delivered 200 electric buses to the government under the FAME I initiative, covering over 60 per cent of the market share. The new mandate is the largest in the country so far, making Tata Motors the only Indian manufacturer to bag the biggest order supporting the government's e-mobility drive. The company will supply the Urban 9/9 Electric buses that will run in Ahmedabad's BRTS corridor.
