Piaggio to Deliver 1500 Commercial Vehicles to Ananda Dairy

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL), India’s leading manufacturer of small commercial vehicles, has bagged an order to deliver 1500 commercial vehicles to Ananda Dairy, a dairy products company based in Noida. The total delivery will be a mix of Ape Xtra LDX and LDX + range of commercial vehicles. As a special benefit, Piaggio is also offering 36 months and 42 months warranty on these vehicles. These vehicles will have special structures build for creating an insulated atmosphere with the capability to deliver as well as vend milk products in fresh form. The first lot of vehicles was delivered today and the complete order will be executed in the next 3 to 4 months.

Tata Intra Compact Truck Launched; Prices Start At ₹ 5.35 Lakh



Tata Intra, the all-new small commercial vehicle (SCV) from Tata Motors today officially went on sale in India. The new compact trucks will be available in two variants - V10 and V20, priced at ₹ 5.35 lakh and ₹ 5.85 lakh (ex-showroom India) respectively. The new Tata Intra compact truck is a premium offering and will be positioned in India above the company's existing range of Ace mini trucks, which will also continue to be on sale. Compared to the Tata Ace, the new Intra SCV comes with a host of first-in-segment features to justify the premium price tag.

New Electric Buses Introduced in Jammu and Kashmir

Advisor to the State Governor K Skandan flagged off the operations of the first state-run electric bus service in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. After inaugurating the service at the railway station here, Skandan said, "The government will initially operate 40 electric buses on different routes in the state." The buses are totally environment friendly, Skandan said. Equipped with CCTV cameras, an electric bus can cover a distance of around 150 km after a single charge, a spokesman said. He said various charging stations would be constructed at different locations. The spokesman said electric buses are the need of the hour to protect the environment.

BS6 Compliant Eicher Pro 2000 Series Light-Duty Trucks Launched In India



Eicher Trucks and Buses, part of the VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV) introduced its first BS6 compliant offering for India, ahead of the April 2020 deadline. The new Eicher Pro 2000 Series light-duty trucks expand the brand into the fast-moving segment. There are two variants on offer - Eicher Pro 2049 with a 1.8 metre cabin along with the Eicher Pro 2095XP with the latter available in five cargo options. Eicher says its new offering has been designed to deliver segment-specific customer needs that meet higher profitability, enhanced reliability, more features, safety, comfort and efficiency. The new Eicher Pro 2000 Series is powered by two new engine platforms that meet the new BS standards.

Commercial Vehicles Older Than 10 Years to be Scrapped: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

An integrated policy to scrap commercial vehicles that are more than 10 years is currently in Government’s pipeline aimed at keeping a check on air pollution. However, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari confirmed that there were no immediate plans of banning trucks and buses over 15 years.
The policy is aimed at tax exemptions and discounts that totals up to Rs 2.5 lakh on vehicles purchased for about Rs 10 lakh at the time of new purchase.

Piaggio Ape City+ Launched In India; Prices Start At ₹ 1.72 Lakh



Expanding its commercial passenger vehicle fleet, Piaggio India has introduced the new Ape City+ entering the mid-body three-wheeler segment. The new Piaggio Ape City+ is priced from ₹ 1.71 lakh for the petrol version and goes up to ₹ 1.92 lakh for the CNG variant (all prices, ex-showroom Mumbai) and is intended to improve last mile connectivity in semi-urban and rural areas that the company says offers a huge opportunity for shared mobility. The new Ape City+ has been developed from ground up and developed by the brand's R&D facilities in Italy and India. The three-wheeler will be available in four fuel variants - Petrol, Diesel, LPG and CNG.

VECV plans to supply 400 e-buses in FY'20

New Delhi: Seeing major thrust for electric mobility from the government, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has decided to supply about 400 electric buses to various state and transport units in the current financial year 2019-2020, said a top company official.

B Srinivas, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing of VECV Bus unit said that majorly 9 meter and 12 meter buses, designed with indigenously developed electrification technology Revolo, will be part of this supply target.

“In light and medium duty segment, VECV’s diesel buses hold a market share of about 25 per cent. With the supply target of 400 electric buses, we aspire to have a similar market share in this space also," Srinivas told ETAuto.

20 Electric Buses Waiting For Charging Points in Srinagar, Yet to Start Operations

Twenty electric buses are waiting for charging points to start plying in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar city. Sources in the state-owned Road Transport Corporation said these electric buses were received from Tata Motors two months back, but are yet to start operation for want of charging points.

Andhra Pradesh Government to Deploy 350 Electric Buses in Five Major Cities

Close to 350 electric buses are set to be deployed in five major cities of Andhra Pradesh under a Rs 746-crore-project, the state's Transport and Information and Public Relations ministry said. In the first phase of the project, buses will be deployed in cities including Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Kakinada and Amaravati.

Nepal to Introduce 300 New Electric Buses in Kathmandu

The Kathmandu authorities on Tuesday inked an agreement with Sajha Yatayat, a cooperative public transportation body, to operate electric buses in the valley. Mayor Bidhya Sundar Shakya of Kathmandu, his Lalitpur counterpart Charibabu Maharjan and Sajha Yatayat chairperson Kanakmani Dixit signed the pact in the presence of provincial minister for financial affairs and plan Kailash Prasad Dhungel.

Delhi plans to get 2,000 electric buses with charging stations in 2 years

NEW DELHI: In a couple of years, Delhi will have a 2,000-strong fleet of electric buses. While the Delhi government is already inducting 1,000 electric buses under the cluster scheme, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is on its way to procure a 1,000 more.

TOI was the first to report that DTC was also getting electric buses. "On Wednesday, we submitted an application to bring 1,000 electric buses under the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) scheme," DTC's managing director Manoj Kumar said on Thursday at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of a compact reformer-based HCNG production plant at DTC's Rajghat-1 bus depot.

Rajasthan Govt to Purchase 300 New Electric Buses Under Public-Private Partnership

The Rajasthan government plans to purchase 600 new buses, 300 of them electric, Local Self Government Department Minister Shanti Dhariwal told the House on Tuesday. Replying to a question during the Question Hour, Dhariwal said the new AC and non-AC buses will provide relief to the residents.
