ok points to talk about now:
1. Despatch from Pune
2. Long Term PDI
3. Battery

Point 1: Despatch from Pune: Spoke to the ASM from TATA Motors Mr. Jaineet. As per him, veh are not manufactured at Lucknow apart from Venture. All Despatches are from Pune.
2. Long Term PDI: There is no page 169 in the Manual now (Checked that). Mr Jaineet said that he is not aware of any such procedures that need to be carried out. They are willing to conduct full PDI again and compare with first PDI that was conducted when veh arrived at dealership. they are also ok with sharing the pdi results with us.
3. Regarding battery: No update from them. dont think they will change the battery. will press them before i take delivery.

I also called up tata motors customer care. they dont have any update on the long term pdi. They have asked me to send them a mail on this. will send them a mail on 4th as am going out on a hunting trip to take care of animals doing excessive damage to the crops in the farms.

Dear, Page 169 is from my manza owners mannual not safari.

Yesterday , I checked owner mannual of grande sumo, the similar notice is found in it.

What is manufacturing date of battery?

ARVI, a true safari fans speaks in you coming straight from the heart.Thats what safari does to many many people, nothing can change or beat what safari does.
Coming to your vehicle, its been lying in their yard for more then 6 months, hows the rusting developed under the car, have you seen them over the brake pads, hinges,did u checked brakes and brake pads? how do they look and perform?
Seating position can be sorted out in strome which is a much much better of a product then current safari, why not the new one itself? Its fitted better, interiors are better and many niggles are being sorted out in the new avatar.
Still if you are fully satisfied with the car u selected as per the VIN no you shared, you can ask for more discounts in it, they are clearing out their stock and that tobe a feb model lying in their yard, i would ask for more cash discounts on it push for more discounts, a friend took his safari one month back and got discount much more then you are being offered.Just my two cents.

No they have no info on the long term storage maintenance
Even though i have paid joshi autozone, am in double mind as to pick the vehicle up.
Havnt decided as yet.

Dont know why the dealers put the customers in difficult situation. I dont know why there are so much issues to take a delivery of a car from a dealer.

Well the Sale price for the car here is 11.26 Lacs.

offer price 11.00 lacs
Includes: 10k worth of acc.
DEB insurance
Logistics charges
Temp Registration alongwith Number Plate.
Extended warranty

It works out to about 76k worth of savings.

Can you please give a camparo of quotations of ' newly manufactured GX vs this feb manufactured GX'?

It is very important to know , wheather the dealer is cross mixing the 'year end offer' which is available on all cars , just to lure you.

I don't know what's happening here and half of the times dealer is not sure about half of the things. I would suggest try going for a newly manufactured GX.

Take a quote for the same and then compare the price between both the models and then make a decision.

They aren't making the GX anymore as per the info i have recvd from the dealer.
So am really in a fix on this one. it probably means that i wont be buying a safari after all
But things seem to be going south as of now.

Come what way , do not accept the car unless rubber (beadings, boot lid packings,bonet packings)/tires /battery(get a new one) issues are sorted out, also you need to get a discount which justifies depreciation in the resale value equivalent to 1 year old vehicle. Also you need to get fully serviced (oil change, filter , lubrication etc) before delivery.

Deal is done only if it is done with eyes wide open. I wish your Safari dream comes true soon.
