re: Chevy Enjoy LS 7str or Mahindra Quanto C2?

i saw the the test Car of Enjoy last week on gurgaon Highway
the main outer exteriors were covered with tape and black white squares

but I told my friend its a car from Chevy

My colleague has Quanto at office. comparing both I might opt for Chevy option if going for MUV.

reason I went for Quanto Test drove last Jan and it didn't appeal to me in terms of power and stability

am sure if I test drove quanto and enjoy one after the other or vice versa Enjoy would be final choice
1.4 petrol would be fun to drive

I read somewhere engines are being manufactured at pune :\
Both are good in one or the other aspects, where Quanto is VFM and has that Grr looks. Enjoy seems to take on the ertiga and Evalia directly, don't know what they're going to to with the Tavera.

Vishwas, wait till chevy launches Enjoy and you would love to own it for sure, its a much better car compared to Quanto, no offence to any owners here but space, three utilised benches and overall a MJD engine would be a better choice. It isnt that huge as it seems and your father would be comfortable driving it.
We are not in an hurry friend, for 3 rows, space and an MJD engine is a better buy for sure, my dad has okayed it in-fact he said it looks and feels like evalia(which he liked it the most), i have to inspect thoroughly and then decide upon, what's your take on the Venture if it comes with the CR-4 mill?

@ vishwas

2012 late models of evalia are available for 1.25 lakhs discount.

Carmakers offering huge discounts | News | Autocar India
Aha that's a pretty sweet deal, but i think the Evalia is actually a market dud which translates to lesser resale value, anyway we are not in the position to acquire it immediately and i think this segment targets too rich people where we are not (i meant we cannot consume the service costs in the later part of ownership).

I have some expectations like want a '13 made car, some interesting gizmos etc etc.

Anyway thanks for letting the news to be known, will put in into the ears of my father, who knows what might happen [;)].

Vishwas going through your requirement, why you have nto considered Bolero? Any specific reasons?
Bolero and Sumo are right out of list because my dad didn't feel comfortable of the long bonnet both had.

And for personal reasons, i lost interest in Bolero for not so good power and Sumo for the pathetic and loosening quality plastics it has.

Three options are there what I feel for you :
1: Ertiga ( but it has been ruled out)
2: Quanto
3: Chevy Enjoy

Between 2 and 3, I believe Quanto top end model must be good one. It has enough space in 1st and 2nd rows and has good fuel efficiency say around 15 KMPL though I am not sure about driving pleasure and comfort.

I do own Ertiga and feel it's super silent Diesel Car and have good power and the best part is light steering. My experience is very limited in driving and till now I drove Chevy Spark( dad's car)- 5 km),Santro - 100km and Ertiga 2500KM.

[MAP][/MAP] Yeow!! That's one ugliest muv in the country I've ever seen. Moreover it's big for my dad to drive. If it had been my personal choice xylo would have been bought eyes closed.

Yes I agree on the ertiga being good in many aspects, but it goes out of budget too moreover I like evalia than ertiga for the comfortable journeys.

Now we are counting on enjoys arrival

re: Chevy Enjoy LS 7str or Mahindra Quanto C2?

Read ACI's review on Enjoy, felt it's a comfortable cruiser except for the plastics it had, now all depends on its pricing part, if it comes below 9 lakhs (OTR Bangalore) then we might consider it, if not then Quanto is the only way to go.

Another thing which is bugs me is Today, i gave my alto for a paid service(run 29 oddk kms), they said they're gonna change clutch plate as its gone wholly and do some knick knacks as usual, the bill came up for a whopping 9000 mark, which i felt is a costly affair.
So maintaining a diesel cars costs more than my alto?

MASS and HASS have become very expensive lately. This, I am hearing from different sources.

Also since car -sales are going down, Maruti has kind of instructed its Dealer and Individual Service Stations to try to get more revenue. One such measure is selling of spares.

So if you are bit casual or not a automobile person and as SA spots that, they will try to inflate your bill by different means. This I have noticed specially in Bangalore.

I agree on this anshuman, MASS HASS TASS or every dealer service network they want revenues and so would try to get all possible measures to take the owner for.
Also one of the reasons why people are more in authorised ASS and then to pvt owned ones cause of this practices.

Yes i'm a bit disappointed on the A.S.S part now-a-days.

BTW, people there's a major turning point right now at my home, my father saw the ads of Indica's slashed prices and hell bent of buying the eV2 LS, while i am completely against it as i do not want to drive a cab which i sit and come in the rear seat daily, i told him to go for the beat but he is not ready, so after this, he told we are not going to buy any other car for now if i won't agree with buying of the Indica, i'm really disappointed.[cry]

If he is hell bent on Indica, take him to the showroom and ask him to drive/sit in the rear of Vista D90. He will never mention Indica after that. [:D]

re: Chevy Enjoy LS 7str or Mahindra Quanto C2?

Re-opening this thread as we finally decided to buy a new one after a lot of hooplas went around,

The lauch of the Enjoy is just day after tomorrow, and the pricing is the key strategy for us to buy, if the base model(with a/c and p.s) retails at 8.50 lakhs (OTR Bangalore) then we are considering this vehicle, else it would be the Quanto C4 which costs 8 lakhs (but will try pushing my dad to buy c6).

I read the reviews of this enjoy and found it more apt like our Versa, only thing to keep in mind is the cheap plastics(but this is not the one which i cannot live without)

Enjoy should be worth a wait.

Are you sure you want to buy a Quanto[confused]. To me it looks a bit awkward. Also it seems from outside the vehicle CG is not proper (like Sumo).

You could have still seriously considered Ertiga/Eeco.
