Friends,

I have problem with Reverse horn. It is not working. I wanted to see why is not working. In my 800 it was kept in one of the rear light assembly. I was thinking the same and tried in my Sparky but could not find it.

Oh I mean to say that

You own a M800 and you know where the reverse horn on Spark, but

Sethu owns a Spark, but he is searching the rear horn place of your car M800 on Spark[clap]

Ha Ha Ha, nice one ! But usually there are only two places to easily mount the reverse horn.
Either behind the tail lamp or the bumper.

BTW : Shethu, Why do you require a reverse horn ?

Yes Varun,

I agree with you that they disturb a lot , you know my neighbors are Hyndai and Chevy service centers and whole day I keep listening to those different different reverse horns and break my head [cry]

But at times like, if somebody is there when we are reversing and we do not notice them, then it just alerts them with that noise I hope [:)]

I used to have one on my M800, but I have not installed one on my Ritz for this irritation

Varun the same reason as Mr. RK mentioned to caution the other while we are reversing. And Iam used to it. for past 2 weeks I feel like something is missing. I really dont know whether the reverse gear has engaged or not [Just a feeling because of regular hearing for past 6 years while reversing]

Already I tried searching behind bumpers but not able to reach. May be I should lie down under and find it tommorow [ I really doubt will i be able to do it.]. I can here guys who met me at the meet are lauging.. what can i do [;)]

I have a doubt regarding reverse horns. I have seen many cars using the autocop sirens for reverse horn. The reverse switch may be connected to the autocop system. Spark owners may please check and reply.

Varun, I found the reverse horn. It is near rear left wheel closer to rear bumper. its hanging from top. fully covered with plastic cover. i could not remove it. I can cut it. But I do not know whether the problem is horn or wiring.

As its an OE reverse horn it must have been attached via a connector
try to trace the wire and find the connector
(in maruti800 we can access the connector by removing the rear lamp or the side pannel(place for speakers) in the boot)
is there any side pannel in spark which can be removed ?? Or you may remove the rear lamp

Good that you found it, just cut the wires and remove it. Check it by connecting the wires to the battery terminals directly, see if it works.

If yes then it is the faulty wiring, if not the horn is gone.

Varun, I wanted to do that. I was double minded. May be tomorrow I will do that.

Shantanu, It is not OE. It is an after market product I got it fixed while fixing my ICE. Ya I know in maruti 800 the entire unit was fixed into the rear light assemble. But in spark, there is no room for the unit. so he took the power from reverse light.
