Sorry for the late reply Sethu Sir,as internet in office was not working. Some how I connected using my mobile. The circuit diagram is perfectly correct.
The LED's that you are showing in the picture is available here(in Lucknow), but without the lens. Each LED costs Rs 5 and runs on 2.5v and draws less than .5W

I'll now try to fabricate the lens and the holder [;)]
BTW: how much does the LED's cost there ??

It is okie Shantanu. No problem for the delayed response.

If you ask about the regular LED, its Rs.1.5 per piece. If it is the LED with lens, sorry i do not know. Actually I was searching for some stuff on how to connect LEDs in series, i found this details. Thought of sharing the same with others.

And also I found a site How To Solder which has the videos on how to solder and it is good one.

And I request you to tell me how do i test the LED lamp [after connecting all in the series] ?

After connecting the LEDs in series, you will need a 12v DC source. A battery, adapter etc. Connect the light to the source and it should glow.
While connecting the LED in the circuit please note that the long terminal of LED is +ve and the shorter one is -ve

Thank you Friend. BTW, Can I connect it to Car battery? And I do have inverter at home. Can i check in that?

The design is finalized as either one of them.

It is safer to use the car battery as compared to the inverter.
As now you are also in the field of DIY, you can buy a multi voltage DC adapter. (1.5v to 12v 500ma) costs only Rs 100 and is very useful to check any DC operated device.

Hi sethumurugan...

Why not get a set of alloys ? Also do some other upgrades for your car..

Get the rear power windows, front foglamps. etc.
Yes sir. All those are in my list.

I was thinking of doing FOG lamp comming month. I don't think will I be able to make it as DIY. So thought of doing it from accessories shop itself. When I checked I found that the price to be around Rs. 1200 to Rs. 1500. The shop I checked in GP road, Chennai gave me final price of Rs. 1350 including Fog lamp, wiring, Switch and Labour.

Generally how they manage with switch. When it comes as OEM the fog lamp switch will be part of head light switch. What kind of switch they normally use? if any could share theirs [which was done in accessories shop or as DIY] image it would be nice.

I would like to check with Chevy also about the price. Still confused.

May be next I can try for Rear Power Windows.

Alloys is in last of my list since I need to invest a lot [nearly 12k] I do not want to do it now. Lot of commitments.

My son is pestering me a lot for Alloys, especially after chennai-bangalore meet. [:)]

Regarding that LED DIY, I could n't do yesterday since I was busy in kitchen preparing dinner, after long time [normally I give rest to my wife from making dinner, twice or thrice in a week].

Today also not possible since after going from office, evening I have planned to meet some college friends [Meeting one friend after 22 years] unless rain comes and spoils the plan.

Tomorrow is off for me, and planing to visit Sholingar in the morning two of my colleagues. Evening 90% I will try to do it.

Let me hope for the best. Till then wait for my pics, if you have anything to share pls share with me and others.

Which brand light are they providing?? You can also get the bumper reverse lights done if they offer a bargain on two pairs of lights [;)]

OEM fog lamps come in combination with the headlight switch or an other switch in the dashboard. As you are getting an aftermarket light installed, my suggestion is that you use different wiring and don't attach anything to the OE wirings. You should use separate push-pull or rocker switch. Do not forget to use relay in the wiring.

reverse horn switch is ROCKER SWITCH
for lights I have used PUSH-PULL SWITCH

Friends,

Any possibility to re-paint the Beige interiors of my sparky exactly like the fiesta. I wanted to do this since beige interiors are reflected a lot in windshield and it disturbs a lot while driving.

Fiesta Dash

Sparky Dash
spark dash.jpg

  • How to do it?
  • Who will do it?
  • Will it have any warrenty issues?
  • How much it could costs?

Dr.Surender Can help me in this.

In addition to that, I am not comfort with the horn press in sparky. you have to move you hand to the center and press to blew horn. In my old M800 I can use the horn very close to steering rim. This was very convinient and safety also. Some times in spark I had to manage blowing horn as well as turn I feel I might loose control on steering wheel.

Spark Steering Wheel

Is it possible to change with beats steering wheel?

@ Shantanu.
I have the following switch for AC. Will I be able to get same type of switch also for FOG lamps?

Thank you Saishibu. Do you mean to say the regular car painter can paint in plastic also?

How about replacing the top of dash alone with type-1 sparky's dash.

Just an Idea flashed. Do not know which will be cheaper.

RK sir,

there is not discouraging. All points are well taken you know. But at the same time without spoiling the look of the car / warrenty loss doing some enhancements for comfort and safety is okie I believe. And does this mean I am not going to do it next day. There are so many points involved in it. Just something came to my mind and I wanted to share it.

If I am not doing, some others might be interested and wanted to do it. But do not know how or what should have been done. so this could be a triggering point for that. I think that is what forums like TAI are doing.

The both enhancements I have mentioned about [ steering wheel and dash board ] are really painful. Hope all sparky owners will accept it. Just go thru the Chennai-Bangalore-Meet-Videos posted by me. In one of the video you can see the how the dash is reflected in windshield.

So no hard feelings[;)]

Note : i have edited the previous post with additional points. If you not seen, pls look into it.

@Sethu, you can fit aftermarket fog lamps in your sparky with different switch options. But, I would strongly recommend to get it installed in ASC. Just buy those fog lamps and take your car to ASC. Spark fuse box has option for front foglamps. Generally during aftermarket fittings technicians bypass it, which is not recommended. moreover your car is under warranty. cutting wires not only voids warranty, but may also create many obstacles during insurance claims. Hope you are getting my point.
People paint dashboard to get rid of reflection issues. I would rather suggest to paint the top of the dash with non-glaze dark grey, black or any colour of your choice. Don't paint the other plastic parts as many people find it difficult to maintain it later on (due to scratches).
Regarding steering wheel you may go for aftermarket ones. just go to an accessory shop and ask for fancy steering wheels for spark.

You may get combo packs containing steering wheel and gear knob too. But you may face issues like no automatic indicator off after steering change. So you'll have to check everything real carefully before doing these mods.
