Re: Car Tyre Brands and Reviews.
True that. Same experience with me as well.
Current car / Ertiga:
0 - 100 kms: Stock tires - Good Year Duraplus which felt hard and slightly noisy
100 kms to ~22,000 kms: Exchanged stock tires for Michelin PLC - felt the difference immediately. ZERO punctures.
Previous car / Verna:
0 - 100 kms: Stock Bridgestone tires (thinner tires on 14" stock rim)
100 kms to 45,000: Yokohama S Drive with 15" Lenso alloy wheels (stability improved substantially and initially felt good. But became very noisy after ~25000kms). Only 1 puncture.
45,000 to 100,000: Michelin PLC drive - Fantastic experience with similar stability, smoothest and NIL tire noise. Yes it did 55k kms and still had some rubber left for another 5k kms at least. But changed since I had to go for an interstate drive. ZERO punctures.
100,000 to 110,000: Bridgestone Turanza - Very good again. But ride was marginally stiffer and not as silent. Turanza also suited my needs very well.. but I definitely missed comfort and silent ride of Michelin. ZERO punctures.
Note:
IMO, tire choice should be very much based on individual needs & driving pattern and for my needs which primarily comprises city and highway (not much bad roads), I find Michelin perfect.
TAIDhana, you are absolutely right. somehow the car feels smooth and quiet now or i may be dreaming :)
