True. Now, after the price hike, the top end XUV sells at 16.5 Lacs on road in Mumbai & 17.5 Lacs on road in Bangalore.
Mahindra has shown the market the "formula for success" in this segment. Also, it was a tight slap on the face of critics who, after the lukewarm response of the Aria, claimed that Indian manufacturers cannot sell cars above 10 Lacs.
About Aria, if an XUV can sell for 17 Lacs, so can an Aria. But it does not. So, even price is not the issue for Aria. It is the brand image... and that's a fact.
Yes you are somewhat right,
If XUV has a badge of Maruti than???
or a badge of Toyota than???
I guess if it adorns a Toyota badge and was available in sufficient units it has the capability to beat the mark of 10k per month. but not with mahindra badge. Isnt it?
Same goes for Kizashi, had id worns a badge of Toyota or Honda it would have done atleast 200 - 300 units per month.
Comparo of Xylo v/s Innova
Can we not call XYLO a flop product as it sold only 2.5K units as compare to Innova 6.5K (restricted due to production capabilities)
Comparo of Safari and Scorpio
Safari 100% personal usage
Scorpio (15% Taxi+30% Semi taxi & Personal+remaining personal usage)
Bolero vs Sumo
Bolero all models (DI+Bolero+XL+Pick UP) Serves the purpose of pvt taxi in rural area and reliable vehicle (hats off to this UV)
Sumo (all models) Mainly consumed by Taxi and over a time will need to prove its metal in rural areas of India.
But in this hoopla we forget to catch the FLOPPEST PRODUCT OF MAHINDRA named as VERITO
Now Lets say VERITO V/s INDIGO or MANZA
Plz give me the figures of VERITO as iam unable to get those and compare it to its competitior. Now thats what i call a flop product. Even a modest price, space, milage and out of this world M&M service is unable to get the people to buy this. Now any replies on this???
Infact Verito suits much better in Taxis but still people are not just buying it.
Swift around 20K
Now the main reason is running of MAruti plant to its full capacity to produce swift and clear the backlog, they can keep this momentum for the next 3-4 months to clear the backlog of around 70K of swifts. Will see the figure after July 2012 for swift. But no doubt a fantastic product. As iam occasionaly driving my friends diesel swift.
Infact if we compare all others models i can see only one winner and that is Honda Brio, despite being a petrol only hatch it is manage to get the figure of 6000 units, not even swift come closer to that.
Next is Indica and Vista, sooper numbers again this month.
