Tough times for Honda , shocking to see the sales figures of City! Honda better watch out , this is the beginning of your slide , bring in a diesel engine soon , else your downward slide will continue in India atleast!

Accord , City , Civic and Jazz has got good competitors with great diesel engines Passat , Vento , Cruze and i20/Punto respectively at more or less the same price and sometimes at an even cheaper price!

I think people are looking for real VFM. Vento for example has more features than City. Thus impacting sales of City...Honda is over priced.

They have to reduce price and bring in a diesel car or else figure would slide further more.

I am not shocked to see Honda figures. There are 2 reasons:

1) Disaster mayhem in Japan affecting supply chain (IMO, a car cannot be delivered even with 1 part missing)

2) Honda sells only petrol cars. So thats targeting only 20~25% of C-segment car buyers. So even while targeting a smaller segment, figures are good.

Note that rest of the competition have diesel in their repertoire. Its like comparing apples-only seller with a seller who sells both apples & oranges.

I completely agree with diabloo. The reason for the decline in the sales of Honda is primarily because of the Disastrous calamity that occurred in Japan due to which they had to cut down their production to 50%.

Looks like relatively geniune reason but only time will tell. I still feel strong on VFM factor in reference to Honda and VW.

Tata Motors is celebrating the sale of 4 lakh sedans in the country. The company launched its first sedan, the Indigo, way back in 2002. Over the years we have seen alot of variants on the Indigo platform in the form of notchbacks, limousines and station wagons. The company has also used alot of engines in its cars but post the Fiat joint venture, have settled for the awesome motors from Fiat Powertrain Technologies. Celebrating the 4 lakh sedan roll-out milestone, Tata is running a competition, wherein new Manza owners get a chance to visit France.
