Agree totally ! If only FIAT marketing team had brains [frustration]

Man, racing Lineas are looking hot!
Forget about all such big things at least they should have tried Punto Tjet in India!

Seems like it was all because of volkswagen fiat lost their brain, last time I heard fiat top brass requesting VW to back off.
naach na jaane aangan thedha! (blaming the stage for poor dance performance)

The Fiat 500L will be followed by the Fiat 500XL (a Maruti Ertiga rival, we laid down in depth last week) this year and soon after, the third new derivative of this platform will join the bandwagon.
Why is the Fiat replicating the Darwin evolution theory with its cars? The idea is to transform the 500 into a brand, similar to the way BMW did with the MINI. Besides the charismatic design, there’s nothing more one can associate with the 500.
The Fiat 500X is Fiat’s answer to the Ford EcoSport. The design is much bolder than the minivan cousin, but the vehicle, as much as it can, tries staying true to the ’500′ roots.
Make no mistake, this is not a mud plugger. It may have some pretensions of an off-road model, reinforced by high profile tires and big wheels, but they are purely for visual delight.
The platform of the Fiat 500X is a derivation of the ‘Small Common Components System’, SCSS in short, used by the Fiat Punto. The 500X’s platform is slightly wider and meets safety requirements of the United States. It will be made at Mirafiori, Italy, and as you may have guessed already, exported to the U.S.

The 500X is expected to have a wheelbase of around 2.6 m, which is more than the Ford EcoSport (2,52 m), while measuring 4.20 m long. It is the successor to the Fiat Sedici, as Suzuki and Fiat will not badge engineer the Suzuki SX4 in the future.
The 500X will be offered in four-wheel drive in select markets, but it is primarily a FWD.
Engine options include the 1.4-liter 95 hp and the 0.9 TwinAir Turbo with 105 HP. The diesel duties will be the carried out by the 1.3L Multi-jet diesel engine.
All that Fiat India has to do now is bring down this vehicle to India, localize it completely, and position it between 8-10 lakh rupees. Possible?

@Raja,I dont think those fiat models will ever make it to India looking at present scenario.
Hope you are aware of 50 50 jv with Tata, which means anything fiat brings to India,Tata will have half share in it. got the drift !
All those engines and technologies are blood and sweat of fiat only , which they would not be interested to give away at any cost .
They had to share crdi knowhow previously or poverty lead them to share it so you see it is apple of the eye for every one in world with a diesal mill .
fiat must be regretting why they shared mjd technology with suzuki else suzuki also would be one like Honda just in process of thinking to make one.

More than Chrysler i wish Fiat bring's in Jeep brand to our country
Jeep brand is owned by Chrysler. So when FIAT is considering Chrysler showrooms in India, then it means they want to launch JEEP models like Grand Cherokee or Wrangler here.

Difference is MINI was a brand on its own when it was acquired by BMW.

This wont have any impact in our market unless it's manufactured locally and priced aggressively, the previous CBU unit's which Fiat sold in our country was a sales disaster

+100 Visran, but you know, something like "A right car launched in a wrong time"

Only just a launch will not help, it needs to be looked into the pulse of the crowd at that moment and do a proper advertising a campaign and in which they should showcase for who they meant it for [clap], then the things fall in line. Of course the biggest factor was the price !!

I wouldn't mind paying close to 9L for this car and there will be lot more people who think's like me i am sure there is a good market for such car's it can easily bring some four digit sales figures to Fiat.

What do you think about Fiat Palio, was a hit or miss ??
Fiat has a better range of product's which will suit our market, the only missing thing is courage to invest and launch them here.

Fiat to complete separation from Tata in sales operations by March 2013

Italian automaker Fiat will complete separation from Tata Motors in sales operations in India by March next year and plans to have 80 dealers of its own as the company embarks on yet another revival journey.

The company's wholly-owned Indian arm Fiat India Automobiles Ltd (FIAL) is also in the process of hiring about 100 people for customer facing roles.

"We have a revival plan for Fiat in India. For that it is important for us to complete the timely realignment of distribution network. By March 2013, the no Fiat car will be sold under the existing Tata-Fiat joint dealerships," FIAL Vice President (Commercial) Ravi Bhatia told reporters here.
