The bitter truth from horses mouth. how does any dealer survive with sale of 2 to 3 model a month?
pity .
That is the reason the new FIAT showroom in Mumbai is actually in Navi-Mumbai not in proper mumbai. Because sky rocketing prices of real estate, dealer wont be able to even pay rent of the showroom with just 2 FIAT models , that also not selling too much.[sleep]

Nice update Visran !![clap]

Some how it looks to me that Fiat is really trying hard to Re-establish their rhythm in India and I have strong feeling that they will be succeeded to larger extent this time, if all their strategy works well[:)]

A company which could'nt establish itself in 50 years in India, and now they can't run a joint venture successfully with Tata too. Their future looks dull! Hell, they hire idiots for marketing.

The stand of fiat has gone from pathetic to sympathetic. Hope you all agree with me.
Earlier they had Tata's shoulder for support and cry,now whom?

Thankfully my fiat is about to complete two year, meanwhile I have replaced whatever could be replaced.

Untill and unless I see something progressive my Fiat stays in the garage I will be on two wheels henceforth.

Fiat owners Rush,it looks like the final call !

I don't get this when fiat were with tata people bashed tata for all the failures of fiat, and now that fiat has separated they want tata's hand for sympathy.[surprise]

Thing is the old reputation of unreliable 1100,Uno and the poor mileage woes of Palio, petra etc is still fresh in the minds of Indian junta.

The well educated petrol-heads know that both these new fiat cars, punto and linea are totally different beasts when compared to good old padmini, but the aam junta stays away from fiat and for this situation fiat can only blame one thing and that's themselves.

I am a fiat fan and love their cars(always have) but their future in India looks really shaky. As much as i hate to admit this I can see that,"the end is near, very near."[cry]

One thing I never understood, when FIAT was with TATA, people all over internet in many forums had onyl one thing to say that separate from TATA and setup own chains of dealer and service centers. And now when they are trying to do this, people are still bashing about their future in India. I am not sure what is FIAT's future in India, and But strongly believe they are not making loss, look at the number of cars being sold every month with FIAt's multijet engine in it. I am always in favour of person who tries, whether they fail or pass is different story. Today as well I stand for FIAT because they try.

This one is from FIAT. [:D]

@dharmesh, they have been trying and failing since last couple of decades the saddening fact is the losses are not borne by fiat themselves but the us customers.
Concurring to that, Fiat cars in Tata showroom was like pan wala in front on a desi dhaba.
It was indecent and incovenient to make space for our rides among flock of cab sumos and indica. So we all pleaded help! I dont see anything wierd in That.
Now they have parted with tata and whats the news?,
Handful of service centre in metros and rest are not interested to take the dealership or do not want association with Fiat.
hope you have read it above.

+1 Dharmesh, Yes people always wanted the Fiat to have their own showrooms and network. When they were with TATA even I too was scared last year to buy Punto and ended up buying a Ritz. But today they started the same strategy listening to people and started building their own thing and probably they may be slow, but it is understood if some body want to do it, then getting a place in prime location and their own staff for showroom and service and locations according to previous sales numbers all this will take bit time, but it again seems that most of the people are negative or pessimistic on their moves, and want to kill it before it try to revive themselves, this is something really surprise me !! [surprise]

we cannot notice day to day things on media, but if we clearly look at the link posted by visran there is a strategy being applied in those 43 pages of PDF which clearly says that their is something happening really but not visible outside.

I spoke to a sales guy in one of the TATA showroom I visited where the same owner now opened the exclusive authorised service for fiat in Hyderabad and this sales guy was very positive with this move saying now at least they are out of that confusion during TATA-Fiat tie up where both the vehicles used to be standing side by side and both were scared for cross sales, now they are bit happy that they just focus on TATA and the people at Fiat focus on Fiat and according to him, there is a good response after this move by them management accepting to open service network of Fiat [:)]

@gurala,you had a right to say all those about pessimism and optimism if you had bought Fiat instead of Ritz at first place.
Now your situation typically clarifies fate of Fiat.
now this is what I call SYMPATHIZING , as in one of the previous post.

Guys give some time atleast to fiat to actually implement their strategy . Today in India real estate values are ridiculious so just have some patience guys . Fiat will not close shop iam sure about that ( it's my instinct please don't ask logic )

Jayadev,

Ok, If it was the case if I would have bought Punto, then probably I would have been other way around by now !!
Whatever I wrote is completely in a sales marketing perspective, in business there is no space for sympathy !! Anyway time will tell us the fate of Fiat with their present moves, let us see what happens soon !!

News for Fiat lovers in Kerala:

Trivandrum will get exclusive Fiat sales and service by early 2013. It might even be a Fiat - Chrysler showroom.
I believe even Thrissur is in the line for Fiat exclusive showroom.
