Fiat India will supply their 1.3-litre, BSIV compliant, Multijet diesel engine in the 75 HP tune to Maruti Suzuki for the next three years.

The supply will start this month and every year FIAT will supply Maruti Suzuki with 1 lakh diesel engines for use in the Ritz, Swift and Swift DZire. The production of these engines will commence in the fourth week of January at FIAT-Tata’s joint venture plant in Ranjangaon near Pune. These engines are other than the ones which FIAT already licenses to Maruti Suzuki for production by Suzuki powertrain India.

The Italian automaker relying too heavily on the Multijet motor to earn its bread and butter in the Indian market.

Re: Fiat Punto & Linea 2012 Exclusive Launch Coverage (Page.6)

Finally, finally Fiat has broken the shackles as both linea and punto combined sold more than 2000 units after a long time.It seems that 2012 models have created some magic. But will Fiat sustain this growth, only time will tell?[thinking]

Something is better than nothing! That is not a big improvement but an important one for Fiat. Hope the sales pick up further during the next quarter.

Fiat is really trying to improve. A friend of mine recently bought a Punto Emotion Pack & yesterday he got a call from FIAT ITALY!

They wanted to get his feedbacks regarding the vehicle, buying & ownership experience.

Punto sold a great (for a FIAT!) 1600 units in Jan '12.

Guys, got a call from TATA-FIAT A.S.S. Fortune Motors (where I give my car for servicing) that they are having a free campaign wherein they will come over to my place & do a free 12 point check up on my car & if engine oil, coolant, windshield washer etc. needs to be topped up, they will do it. They informed me that it will take only 20 minutes.

I again re-confirmed with the lady on the phone that it is a free service. I wonder why FIAT is doing this. Is it actually free?

My wild guess is that they are getting the real picture or analyzing on how TASS has treated your car and in turn whether to setup their own A.S.S in India or not.

If I’m not mistaken, random inspections are performed from manufacturer’s headquarters and luckily, your friend was one.

To please existing customers? This is a good move though, but I hope Fiat also invests on things which are more important for them right now.
