I want to fit a bass tube in my humble Maruti 800, is it necessary to fit an amplifier also?

Also, if I consider the Sony XS-GTX1212L(I am in a tight budget), will it be an extra to the existing speakers or can I just plug it in place of the existing speakers? also amp necessary for this or not?
please advice

Hi guys .I am new to this Forum .I needed some technical advice on ICE .I am unable to decide between a normal HU or a Touch screen one and pre outs 2v or 5v. Will it really make a difference .Does a touch screen HU like JVC or Pioneer come will less power compared to double din or regular HU 's. I want to buy Infinity Kappa 6*9 coaxials for the rear (Swift) a pair of tweeters (Pio -Ts 20 is it still the best ?)and a decent subwoofer. I dont need large sub woofers I need the thump but clarity is my priority. It just shouldn jarr and secondly I want to buy a mono block amp just for the subwoofer (Rockford or focal preferably) .So this is my requirement now my idea (not the best always:)) is to connect the tweeters and rear to the HU and the monoblock will power my Sub .Now the confusion that i have is it really required to connect the speakers to the amp (not talkin about the monoblock) if so why ? Does it make a huge difference ?

I have a Beat LT with company fitted music system. I do not know the type, Brand & wattage of system but somehow the rear speakers seems to be OK for a general type of music. My need is to switch to a better rear speakers which shall fit in the company provided slots. (Not ready to go with MDF ply). Can you please suggest options & ofcourse the tentative budget of speakers which will suit. Thanks in advance

Hi macsvin, You can upgrade all speakers to Component speakers which will improve the sound quality drastically for sure. [:)]

Any reason you wish to upgrade rears rather than fronts. Do you sit at the back seat always? If not, I'd suggest to change the fronts to components to have a better soundstage. For rears change the OEM with good quality co-axes. This is a budget upgrade. Please specify your budget. Also, it is highly advisable to fit door speakers on mdf rings rather than on door panel directly to avoid the jarring sounds and resonance of the metal.

What will be cost of component speakers & which brand would be suitable?
You may choose from RF, Pio, JBL, Morels, Hertz. Budget ones should range from 4-7K.

The reason for upgrading rear one is I heard that the BASS effect is best from rear speakers compared to the ones in front. I agree there is no hard core logic I know behind this but have seen almost all cars having a good pair of speakers at rear.
I shall check this weekend with atrusted shop at my place & then decide. Yes the budget is upto 5 K max. I might increase by 2-3K if I get a best deal or option off my choice

Rears(preferably 6x9s) sound bassy only if they are fitted on an MDF tray. An in-door speaker would not produce THAT much bass as you are expecting. I would strongly suggest you to get good components up front and later when you have more cash to spare, just amplify them.

Re: Checking - If my HU can able to take a sub with amp

Hello experts,

Today I found out my HU which is a MGA certified Alpine unit got two unused RCA Output and REMO (remote turn on lead for Amp) hanging at rear side.

My question can I add some amp and add some subwoofer ? Are those two RCA stereo output line can deliver bass signal to Amplifier ? There is no sub pre out or anything available at HU. Currently HU running with 4 JBL GT6 S366 speaker.

My question Is this HU support subwoofer with the help of Amplifier ?

Below a pic to add optional Amplifier Diagram at User Manual page.

Hello gurus
I have a quick small question. I bought a Suzuki ss80 1986, which came with a single din jvc head unit, jvc ovals, front Sony speakers, jbl sub woofer and a jbl 2 channel amp.
currently the amp is installed under the front passanger seat on the floor. My doubts are :
1. Can I shift the amp and fix it on the sub woofer box?
2. If I can install the amp on the side of a sub box, wont the bass lunch affect the performance of the amp?
3. If I am shifting the position of the amp from front to back should I buy a new wiring kit or use the present existing wiring kit for the amp.?
