Was searching for Pulsar 400 CS news on TAI and found this thread. Was delightful to read as I am owner of a Bajaj Pulsar 180 Classic (2003) model myself. I have a story to share here.

It was in 2003 the fastest bike in India, in my college days that I had bought this bike. Enjoyed it fully. Life took turns and after finishing off college in 2005, I had to buy a Honda Activa in 2006 for daily commuting and work purposes; yes the uncle wala Gaadi [lol] Slowly my bike started to be left alone being used only on weekends then month ends and then not for many days on end. Tragic. In 3 years it was about 23000 kms from the day i bought and then from 2006 till 2015 it was just 6000 kms, my Activa lapping up all the miles. But still the bike never gave any problems and would start with few kicks even after a month. With basic service and not regular oil change it stood strong. However in 2013 my nephew who took the lying idle bike to enjoy for few days CRASHED IT BAD. It took a month for me to source parts and restore it to original condition, one part had to be sent from Chennai. Thankfully the bike came to original condition only to stand still again.

2016. The Change of Times

I started to feel a strong urge to go on bike rides in my late 30's and started to scout for a new bike. However emotions started cornering me and I started to feel guilty of my college bike which was standing there and me not looking. I was afraid that an old bike would not be able to suit long touring purpose and was looking to sell it but something was calling me. It was my Pulsar 180. It wanted to be ridden like in 2003. Set my mind that even if I had to sell it I will make a long trip on it before I give it away. A trip ride was fixed by a group of friends to Kolli Hills, TN, 270 kms from Bangalore starting at 3 AM in February 2016 and the Pulsar came out. It took me 5 days to get it into shape for a ride with all kinds of problems and niggles on the unused bike, small spares not available, no original genuine parts, but still managed to get it fixed.

Lo and Behold, the D day came and I set out for a journey long on miles on my trusted old Bajaj Pulsar 180 after about 10 years (will not lie but fearing a breakdown was in my head) with each and everyone in the group having a newer generation bike except me and what a bike it performed like just in 2003. It kept me together with the lot cruising comfortably at 100km/hr, took on the 70 hairpin bends with ease and finished the journey without a single problem getting me back to Bangalore safe. After this I was addicted and took two more bike rides, one to Balmuri Falls and Mysore back waters and another to Nandi Hills. All Good Again.

Mr.Boss. Aplogolies for hijacking your thread. But being a pulsar topic and you also wanted to upgrade. Hence took the privilege to share my experience here itself.

Attached is the picture of the Pulsar 135LS rectifier unit snugly fitted in place of the older 4 pin RR unit. All the lighting runs entirely on the battery. It was fun to see the headlight not dimming with engine revving down to idle. Total cost for this upgrade was under Rs450/-, but worth every paise that went into this experiment. The headlamp has also been upsized to 55/60W. The lighting is brilliant now.

cluck sound is coming when i accelearate
please help me in restoring the bike.
Could you post a Video to understand the abnormality? Quite difficult with "cluck" explanation.

BTW, I see "DAM Motors" stickers on the front fork. Where they not able to sort out?

Started from Page1 and took ample time to go through all pages.
Please post some nice snaps of the bike now in the fully restored state.
