An alloy update on a new car that came with alloys? Doesnt make sense. My view point- alloy wheels look nice but also serve a purpose. I would just leave them as is

Can someone suggest 16" rims (preferably BBS, enkei, momo or lowenhaart) for brown ciaz. I would also like to have a light gold rim paint to suit the brown).[:)]

Anyone know, how 195 section tires look on 7" rim? I'm planning to go for 16x7 rim in future, options are limited in 6 or 6.5" rims.
7" corresponds to 17.5 cm or 175 mm. So, 195 section would look slightly bulging out. Similar to the way many SUVs with aftermarket wheels have but with lesser effect (of tyre bulging out). If you go for 6 or 6.5 inch width, the below effect would be more pronounced.

Something like this - /__\...../__\.

Which car is it?

@ChandraV - Sorry, but I am not able to spot that car these days. Maybe the owner has started using it regularly. I will post ASAP.

Baleno! Lol

What about 185mm on 7" rim? I saw this cool alloy design at local shop but it's available only in 15x7! Or 16x7. Either way i've to upgrade tyres!

Even though tire say 185 , contact patch is only about 6" or 152mm I've measured it myself with ruler :D

What? I didn't knew this. This might be because when the tyre is inflated, the sides of the contact patch are slightly raised from the ground. 185 on 7" in my knowledge, should look more subtle than 195 on 7".

According to what you are saying, 185mm is actually 152mm : which is 82% of the supposed width. So, for a 7J rim, i.e. 177mm width, a 221mm should be perfect.

Now consider this, my friend's Zxi (Swift) has 5.5J alloy and 185 section tyres from the factory. 5.5J is around 140mm so your theory is correct here. Precisely, in the factory fit 5.5J rims could take 185 section (75%). So, I think 7J would be too much wide. 6J should be it, whether for 185 section (as my friend's alloys don't stick out like aftermarket ones) or 195 section.

And now according to the revised theory, a 6J rim width should be able to take 185mm (with your 82% theory) and 6.5J rim should be able to take 200mm easily.

My view of alloys is more of function than form. Stiffer rim, wider tyres need a alloy rim for better contact patch, better stability, cornering and braking. If they look good, its a bonus.

For the Baleno Zeta and Alpha specs, replacing the alloys is a waste of money IMO. Unless the NEXA is doing it at no or nominal cost. Mine wasn't willing to, so I stuck with the stock alloys. However, Detla owners can definitely think. However, as a Delta owner, you have lot better options from outside

IMO these alloys look cool for Baleno.
If possible can you post a full pic of the car showing both alloys of a side ?
Sure. I will try to take another pic tommorow.

- Unless one can spend 40k+ for good brands like Lenso, it is better to stick to OEM as stock quality is hard to match with aftermarket options. Many people who go for top-end variants and opt for different rims give away the OEM rims at nominal price to alloy dealers and that is the place where you can get them at good prices.

BTW I am also sticking to OEM design as it looks good in person.
