I liked the new Jetta from side & rear but from front, it looks like grown up Vento [frustration], the number of grills is different. The car of this segment definately deserves something better.

Same is the case with other car makers like BMW & Audi. It is this space, why I prefer the design element of Mercedes-Benz. All look of the Merc family, but have distinct identities, including sports, coupe & SUVs. Saloons are superb [:)].

Btw, any news on Honda Accord Diesel ?

Re: jetta

Same as in what sense?
Well, the basic chasis and the gadgetry are the same.

But the character is different.

Buy a Jetta if you want a comfortable refined car.
Buy a Laura RS if your life revolves around taking corners faster.

2015 VW Jetta facelift debuting for April 16th.

This rendering courtesy of Automobile Magazine imagines what the refreshed Jetta could look like. The front bumper is inspired by new VW models such as the Golf Sportsvan and the refreshed Polo in that the foglight enclosures are redesigned with a chrome strip connecting them. The headlights get different mirror elements, and presumably VW will extend the Jetta LED lighting technology.

The New Jetta arrives in India for homologation. A diesel variant of the 2015 Jetta has been imported and an official launch is expected to happen later this year.
The new bits on the 2015 Jetta’s styling include revised headlamps with DRLs, a new grille up front, duck tail spoiler for the redesigned boot lid, and revised front and rear bumpers. The 2015 Jetta Facelift is more aerodynamic than the outgoing model, with redesigned rain gutters and a grille that can open and close depending on aerodynamic needs. The car also gets stylistic changes on the dashboard including a piano black finish for the center console and chrome detailing around the instrumentation console while the seats gets re-upholstered with revised fabric options to choose from.
For the Indian car market, the 1.4 liter TSI turbo petrol and 2 liter TDI turbo diesel engines are expected to be retained, with the turbo diesel engine making more power than before. The 2 liter TDI motor will output 150 Bhp, up from 140 Bhp, even as the peak torque of 320 Nm remains unchanged.
The Jetta will be sold with a 6 speed manual gearbox option as standard with the diesel motor also getting a 6 speed dual clutch DSG automatic transmission. The car is assembled at Skoda India’s Aurangabad factory through the completely knocked down (CKD) kit route.

The 2015 model year sedan has just been crash-tested by the IIHS and received the maximum 2014 Top Safety Pick+ rating.
The "Top Safety Pick+" rating is based on "Good" in the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. Cars must score no less than an "Acceptable" rating in the small overlap front test and at least a basic rating for front crash prevention

Volkswagen Jetta facelift to launch on February 15th/17th
The Jetta facelift will get a grille and headlamps that appear like a single continuous element, while the new and wider air dam will aim to improve aerodynamics. At the back, the LED tail-lamps are slimmer and now placed higher than before.
Inside, there's a new corporate steering wheel; bigger, cleaner dials in the instrument cluster, and a new high resolution trip computer.
Mechanically, the Jetta facelift will continue with the same 1.4-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engines. The diesel engine, however, will get a 10bhp increase in power.

I don't like the facelifted version as much as the current one, which looks classier and elegant. The Interiors are identical except a new designed steering wheel. Engines would remain the same and I do not know why VW isn't offering that 1.8 TSi in the Jetta. Expect prices to jump up.

VW 's facelifted Jetta despatched to dealerships where sales training has started.

1. New steering wheel – The steering wheel of the Jetta gets Cruise Control buttons, music system volume and toggle buttons, buttons for telephony and driver’s information display unit. Leather stitched steering wheel gets glossy black finish as well.

2. Dashboard – Beige-grey interior theme gets wooden inserts on the dashboard. Surprisingly, the Jetta doesn't get glossy black/brushed aluminium finish near the music system the way its done on the current Vento and Polo

New Jetta looks too good. With the new Corporate steering wheel and hooded dials, it looks quiet grown up. Even the exterior have a grown up look too[clap]. My brother in law has paid down payment for it in Madurai and will be informed when the vehicle comes for Test drive. When I went to Sundaram Motors in Chennai for enquiry they invited me for Launch in ITC Grand Chola, Chennai. If I go for it will keep you guys updated.

The music system is a direct lift from vento/polo and the car doesn't have bi-xenon with DRL. I think the car in the picture is the entry level variant
Volkswagen would have directly lifted the music system to save costs I guess. I think the car pictured here is the Comfortline variant and if anyone who doesn't want luxury comforts can comfortably end up with this variant. Only time csn tell.
