I think it is not showing the update as I am roaming in Kochi right now will check it once I am home

Of course it will not show you the update , until and unless you have not allowed the phone to check and install update on data roaming by keeping that option on .

You need wifi for update . I got the update in London , once I got connected to the hotels wifi network .

And any software update must be done with max battery power available on phone , and on wifi only since it takes lot of time at times .

It's no big deal in 2-3 days you will get the update .

Microsoft’s plans to unify Windows Phone and Windows 8 store in “next version” of both operating systems confirmed | WMPoweruser

Its not final until Microsoft announced it, but the Verge added further confirmation to the long-running rumour that Microsoft is planning to unify the Windows Phone and Windows Store.

According to their sources Terry Myerson, head of the operating systems group, confirmed the move in an internal company meeting attended by thousands of Microsoft employees.

The unified store is said to launch with “the next release of Windows Phone and Windows”, believed to be Windows Phone 8.1 and an updated version of Windows 8.1, due in Spring 2014.

Unfortunately no details were revealed, so we do not know if Windows Phone apps will run on Windows 8 or vice versa. but previous rumours have suggested this will be the case.

Despite the slow growth of both Windows Phone and Windows 8, there is expected to be several hundred million of both users by Spring next year, which should hopefully prove to be a large enough attraction to developers to cause a real influx of much needed applications.

Don't get the 625. It's display sucks. Seriously. If you NOT AT ALL care about the display, go for it.
Better get the 720, or 820.

Compared to the screen size the resolution is less . Go and check the phone in real if it is fine for you , go and buy it comes bundled with some cool offers.

Simple. 199 PPI isn't acceptable. If it was me, I wouldn't even consider it in the list.
Also, 720 is cheaper and has a better camera and much more. 720p on the 720 is good enough.

@Raja, are you going to buy the 1020 once it releases?

I having serious issues with my 720. The lower volume button stopped working a few days back. Now it is stuck at gearing screen. i cant even soft reset it since it needs the lower volume button... GUYS, i need help. i am dying without phone and I cant even take it to Nokia Service Center since none is nearby. Please edios, raja, etc.

I had the same problem and even took it to the service centre(it won't hard reset, no way except to flash and the said the same) but did it myself.
If you're having any problem please ask. Currently I'm not on PC so sorry for now.

i got the problem fixed. the battery eventually ran out and then i just charged it and it started normally. now phone is fine. just the volume button is not working still but i see its a common problem with 720s as I found out after some research.

EDIT: I am using a macbook air so i cant download this NCS.

Maybe yes maybe no , depends what they show in Nokia world on 22nd October . But surface 2 is somewhere in my radar .
