me too use whatsapp on mom's 520. using whatsapp starts giving me alerts from the battery app that my battery is draining too quickly. i do not get such alerts from games or viber or even skype for that matter. me too lost 12-13 percent in 30 minutes. but when my mom uses without me touching the phone, she gets day and half almost 2 days on charge. she doesnt open whatsapp much though.

Exactly, on stand-by the battery life is great. only when you use the app, boom. its starts draining like there's no tomorrow

whats app on windows is a big battery hog.

especially. if one uses group chat on whats app and end up getting over 100 messages per hour

A published report on Saturday details a pair of Nokia Lumia phablets on the way with one coming in the September-October period and the other due next February. The model expected to be coming in the third quarter will purportedly include the same camera as the one seen on the Nokia Lumia 925 and will sport a 5.5 inch to 6 inch screen. The second phablet, expected to hit the market in February 2014, will have a higher MP camera with a noticeable hump on the back. The camera will include the 16 lens-lytro camera that allows users to change the focal point of a picture after it is taken.

The report also details a low-priced version of the Nokia Lumia 920 which is expected to be launched around the same September-October time period as the first phablet's release. According to someone who has seen this phone in person, it will be equipped with a 4.7 inch screen featuring resolution of 768 x 1280. The 8MP camera on back will have optics from Carl Zeiss, and include an F/1.9 aperture for great pictures under low-light conditions. The camera will not offer optical stabilization, however. The phone will have a similar design to the Nokia Lumia 720 with a thinner footprint, and will be lightweight. Under the hood will be the same dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus (MSM8960) CPU and the Adreno 225 GPU found in the Nokia Lumia 920. According to the report, this model will be Nokia's response to the low-priced Apple iPhone and will replace the Nokia Lumia 82x range.

Before you get too excited, keep in mind that this is all speculation at this point. In other words, keep that salt nearby.

well like i had posted before 2 of my friends who were hardcore android users after using the 720 decided to buy the 720 .
one was using sony xperia j he exchanged that for a red lumia 720 .

the other friend had a note 1 but he wanted a yellow lumia 720 , so finally he got it yesterday he exchanged is 1 year old note 1 for 11,000rs . i met him just now and here are the pics of his phone

guys few queries would like your help.
One when i copied the songs on my sd card with different groups of classicals, bollywood and all kinds which were there on her old card, on lumia, on albums it shows all together rather then different, also say album of 3 idiots, in album section it shows all songs one by one rather then being in one group of 3 idiots.
Also let me know how to incorporate soft keys on live page for wifi,data,bluetooth on off keys, so dont have to go to settings everything.
Also do share how can i choose any of the songs as the ringtone that options is not available directly, any pointers?

^^ for the last bit you have to place the audio file in the ringtones folder.

also make sure you cut the audio file for length else it will play the whole audio file.

Download a free app called shortcuts which will give you soft keys for wifi , Bluetooth , data network and other .





Download a free app from nokia called ringtone maker and make your own mp3 ringtones the way you wish and want . And there are countless free apps which gives you a huge variety to download mp3 ring tones which get saved straight in the ring tones section .

First Quadcore Nokia Lumia shows up on Graphics Benchmarking site


We knew it would arrive eventually, but now we have proof. The first Quadcore Windows Phone has just shown up on benchmarking website GFXBench.

The entry clearly shows the mystery Nokia Lumia has 4 cores, and runs Windows Phone 8.

It also reveals the screen is still 720, not 1080P unfortunately, but I am sure that will come eventually also.

Unfortunately there is no 720P Windows Phones with the Andreno 305 CPU in GFXBench’s database, so we can not directly compare the benefit of the increased processor power.

The Nokia Lumia 620 does however the Adreno 305 processor, and the data does show the Quadcore processor does result in a very significant boost in benchmarks.



In terms of 1080P off-screen fill, the NL 620 scored 152 MTexels, while the mystery handset scored 702, more than 4 times as much.

For textured triangle throughput on a virtual 1080P screen off-screen, the NL 620 scored 17 MTriangles, while the Quadcore handset scored 48, nearly three times as much.

Of course with such an excess of power one wonders what a Windows Phone would do with it, but I am sure games and browser rendering will both be significantly snappier.

Looks normal. But with group chat and continuous texting, the phone heats up and the battery starts draining heavily, at least in my case.

My two other andoird handsets S3 and Xperia S both shares the same files and albums in the same tags of different music, shows same was in our handsets but when same folder of music was copied on sd card of nokia, it doesnt show same way.
shall i try some different app for music and videos and see how it shows in that app, the way i want.
