Re: Which is a Better Option Among Lumia 720 / 820?
To get a true comparison, you need to eliminate the main variables that most screen tests overlook. Screen size and resolution. Get 3 displays with one having Super AMOLED, one SLCD and one IPS LCD. Have all 3 the same screen size and the same resolution. Then you would be able to compare and contrast the true differences in the technology. On such a test SAmoled was found better.

The HTC One sports a pretty great 4.7” Full HD S-LCD 3 display with 1080x1920 pixels of resolution, ensuring the highest 468ppi pixel density. The colors are accurate, and viewing angles are some of the best we've seen. It is not as bright as the displays on the HTC One X or the iPhone 5, for instance, but the difference is not big, so it's still pretty visible in direct sunlight, albeit could be less reflective.
The Galaxy S III is equipped with a 4.8” HD Super AMOLED display with 720x1280 pixels, which ring in a lower, 306ppi pixel density. It is still more than enough for your daily tasks,
plus we get the typical for OLED screens wide viewing angles and deep blacks, but calibration is a weak point. Colors on the Galaxy S III are quite oversaturated by default, and appear pretty cold as well.
These are not major gripes, unless you are a display nut, but brightness is, and the S III doesn't deliver in that respect. Its low screen reflectance can't compensate for sub-400 nits luminance, which makes it difficult to tell anything outside, unless you shade the screen with your palm, while the HTC One screen perform much better in sunlight.

And read this like you said same variables , same resolution .
We have a 4.8” HD Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy S III, with 720x1280 pixels of resolution, while the Lumia 920 sports a 4.5” 768x1280 PureMotion HD+ LCD screen with Nokia’s ClearBlack filter. This gives the pixel density round to the Lumia 920, at 332ppi, against the 306ppi of the Galaxy S III. Samsung has on top of that used the PenTile pixel matrix that looks unorthodox compared to the regular RGB stripe when solid colors are examined closely, yet you'd have to be a real screen purist to notice even then.
The colors on the Lumia 920 are vivid, yet are still a far cry from the oversaturation present with Samsung’s AMOLED screen, which also tends to display various cold color casts at all times.

The ClearBlack filter of the Lumia 920 and the much higher brightness of its display are definitely an advantage when it comes to comparing outdoor visibility with the Galaxy S III. Even with the sun shining directly on the display, it can be observed fine, whereas the Galaxy S III looks dimmer in comparison.
Nokia touts the record fast refresh rate of its PureMotion HD+ screen, yet in reality the only advantage can be observed with enlarged text or contact lists being slightly less blurry than on the S III while flipping them quickly up and down.
