Congratulations for your new VDI Dzire Tour [clap].

The pillar color is black in VDI (mine). Even the front pillar also is black in VDI !
Photo courtesy - google images . I do not have a pic of my car at the moment

The only attachment i have done in mine is the Lip Spoiler ! (the one you have). I didnt even fix that side stickers
Hi appus

Thanks for the wishes.Don't you think white looks a bit good than black in pillar?[;)] I am not planning to make it black as my parents liked the pillar in black or would have turned the pillar black.

Regards,
Sankar

Wonderful add-ons and finishing for your new Dzire VDI (aka Tour)[clap]

Hey you forgot 1 thing. Please remove the wheelcaps, paint the rims black and then put them back. It will be true VDI then.

BTW- In the rear , Swift Dzire and VDI stickers are not aligned properly, must be the shoddy work of MASS[frustration]

Cheers,
Anshuman

Thanks Anshuman. The wheel cups are temporary as I am planning to source 14in original maruti dzire alloy wheels.till now I have been unsuccessful as maruti provides another design for 14in alloys now. Will update once I find the correct alloys. So steel rims are stop gap measure[:)]

Regards,
Sankar

Don't you think that 2 screens are too much for a car.
The front pioneer hu is mainly for reverse camera and parking sensors and rear screen is a LCD screen with led backlit solely for my parents and far superior to the screen in pioneer hu. Also front passenger won't be able to see the roof mounted screen so pioneer hu screen also helps there.[;)]

Don't go for stock alloys buddy instead get good 15" wheels with good tires.
No Vivek The old Dzries come with 14in alloys in ZDi variants. The old gen Dzire have been tuned for 14in tires only by Maruti Suzuki unlike the new Dzire which have 15in alloys in ZDi variants. Upgrading to 15in in old gen Dzire would lead to issues with steering column in long run and also leads to tightening of sterring movement which is already a bit tight as i am used to an i10. Info about steering column is from senior MASS engineer who has been with Maruti for 15years and knows thing in depth. Socurrently i am sticking to 14in alloys that came in old gen Dzire.[:)]

No Pioneer HU doesn't come with Navigation. Also I don't need navigation for driving around in a small city like Trivandrum where i live. Even if i go to cities like Bangalore Chennai in future I have my Android powered smartphone which has Google maps which shows navigation almost similar to navigation guide my Mapmy or Garmin. And most importantly no more screens in my small car[clap]

Hi All,

All Audio setup installed and tuned bya professional sound engineer in Trivandrum and i am totally stunned by the experience.[:D]

Also Reverse sensor and camera fitted, Sun control film installed, Anti glare film installed and pure leather steering grip fitted.

Some more pics of my car:-

Damping of front doors. Rear not damped as speakers are in parcel tray and didn't need damping. Also budget was a bit of concern.

Nice update Sankar.

Is the Side beeding just a sticker ? Or, do they make hole to fix it? My friend said, they drill to fix it. Did you mention the price somewhere? Bought online/offline ? Confused of fixing it ! Can think of fixing it if it sticker. No drilling/making holes !

And, they have fixed the reverse sensor where it should be. Not on extreme ends. If you fix on extreme ends, that wont allow you to park in tight places. It keeps beeping louder and louder !

Congratulations again :)

Sid beeding and Door Visor are all stickers and are simple to apply. I keep accessories that needs to be drilled in the car's body to minimal as i don't want to lose any body strength(Already the build is very poor so why make it more poorer[frustration])

Pricing of all accessories will be posted in details on completion of installing all accessories. Hope it's pk but if you need pricing of any particular accessories just let me know. Always glad to help.

Usually accessories like beading, bumper protectors, etc are pasted with 3M stickers. Ideal way to install them is to clean the car's surface, peel off 3M stickers, align and paste neatly and lastly blow some hot air with hair dryer etc on it so sticking is permanent.

Normally i didn't see such a procedure happening in the car accessories shop where i spend about 4 days and also at the Maruti Suzuki Dealer. I suppose you might be talking about costly side beeding. My cars and a lot of other cars at the shop were given the side beeding which you need to peel off the sticker, clean the car's surface and then paste the side beeding as simple as that.[:D]

Thank You Sankar and Anshuman .
Will wait for the completion to know the price of side beeding [;)]
Don't worry mate shall post price of each and every accessories. It's a long list which costs more than 1 lakhs. So that why patiently collecting all the bills and then will update the thread.

Hello Sankar,

I have logged in after a long time; should have missed few notes; on top of my mind:
- 42L tank capacity is what I recollect
- FE, I cannot measure as I drive 90 mins to and fro with bumper to bumper traffic. It certainly should give you mileage more than 20 kms in good highways.

I read your posts and I am happy for you; some updates:
- I couldn't find a MGA leather steering cover; I tried most known methods but failed. I even asked Stanley genuine leather guy, he said he needs 5 hours and an appointment with (low cost) 2500 INR. Your thoughts. May be you can help me with that.
- I have gotten used to the blind spots and thinking if I should really go for parking aids. I don't like such gadgets. When it comes to viewing comfort, I really miss my esteem.
- Tomorrow it is going for its first 1000 kms service. Door pick up and drop; I like it.

One recommendation; stick to 14" wheel; you will stay out of so many problems. I like reading all your posts, keep them coming and take care.

Manjax.

Wonderful mods Shankar. We too have a Swift and sold due to Vento.
Thanks Music_Swift. I have been following your thread on your pre-owned Vento and your car looks awesome.[:)]. The mods i did even though changed the look of my car was a very tiresome experience with 4 days of work on my car. Even after this i still have one day left of work more to do. But when my parents and bro looked at the car after the paint job and audio installs they were really impressed and said i had made the right decision. Seeing my parents happy gives me a lot of satisfaction[:)]. So all the hard work is worth my time.

Regards,
Sankar

Hi Manjax nice to even from you. On your queries:-

1) I am doing art leather covers for my seats and original leather grip for steering wheel. They remove all seats from car and stick the leather cloth into the seats. Advantages of this type of seat cover are:-

a) You get excellent seat cover with superb finish which the company seat covers with are put on to the seat will never match.

b) Another advantage is the arm rest will be stiched in such a way that no one can guess if the seat covers are factory fitted ones or ones done by outside. Normally seat covers fitted from outside will have a cover over the arm rest. If we need to use the arm rest we need to unzip the seat cover. As per my thoughts such a seat covers looks horrible.

c) You can select from wide range of combination colors like my choice is black seat covers with red in center which will give sporty look and feel. Company made ones will have very limited color options.

d) If you have budget you can chose some very high end art leather cloth to medium quality cloth. I am choosing a medium quality cloth which will cost 8k.

Disadvantage of seat cover that are stiched into the seats are:-

a) Normal seat covers costs 5-6k while this type of seat covers costs 8-10k depending upon the material of leather you have chosen. So this type of covers are expensive.

b) Extremely labor intensive work and will take 6-8hours if there are 2 guys to do stitching.

For you next query do install Xenox reverse parking aid for Dzire as one cannot see anything that happening directly behind the car. Rear visibility is terrible. I would advise spending some money on reverse parking aids as this will help in keeping your car rear from hits[;)]

I am planning to buy only 14in wheels as 15in will harm the steering column and will affect the car's mechanicals in the long run.

I am looking for this particular type of alloy wheel which actually came with old generation Dzire ZDi. My search has been unsuccessful so far[cry]. Any TAI members who can source me this alloys i will be grateful.
