nice guys you now can start a G Grey club for Ertiga. One advantage with Ertiga is it is so youthful as it came from Swift platform. It is so car like feeling very easy to park in tight parkings

Yeah so true, parking and turning on small road, tight spot is not a problem,at trip never once did i felt that this is an MPV,innova like vehicle. And parking is like breeze with Reverse camera.

@Mr. Ranger:

First of all congrats for the new car, no doubt it is looking fantastic. I have gone through every single post of yours on this page and just couldn't stop myself from appreciating each of them.
Secondly sorry for being late but dunno how I missed this thread.

One question: Aren't they offering alloys any more on the ZDi variant? I guess alloys were also a part of the stock equipment for the ZDi variant.
Hi Vipul, Thank you very much and very happy to see that you read everything, Hope you enjoyed.

Alloys are optional and I dont like the standard alloys of Ertiga so I didnt opt it. but technically those alloys returning very good FE compared to steel rim.

keep watching this thread.
It is good idea to change Engine oil after initial run-in period of 1000kms, though Maruti doesn't recommend the same. However, I missed it some how and changed oil at 5000kms service only.
Any performance damper if change it at 5000km?
according to me the 1st oil change should happen as soon as possible since the new engine comes with some minute metal pieces which we need to remove as early as possible.
but now i'm ran out of money till the end of this month.

Its available as "Optional" for the ZDi variant.
+1000 true.

This pics are taken at my native place in kankavli, kokan region.

Regarding oil maruti does not recommend oil change at 1000km interval, oil used is Synthetic,so i have not done it.
As per told by mass mass that 800 to 1000cc requires oil change at 1k,since oil used is mineral.

Many of them has changed cause due to friction in engine for initial 1000km,lots of metal waste gets deposited in engine, thats why may of them change engine oil.
Its your wish to change oil or not.
that is a good tip for me, so what you suggest based on your experience?

@mr.ranger
Just follow the manual for such things [:)]
Manual is nothing RK, they gave some general check list never said anything about oil change.
what is your opinion?

So many G Grays on the forum. It is fast becoming a popular choice. Glad I am part of the Gray Dolphins group.
G gray is becoming popular choice among public,My brother who booked Ertiga was ZDI maroon color was about to be delivered in weeks time,it happened to visit my place where he saw my LUV ,later he to changed to G gray and waited for 3 weeks more.[clap].Yesterday i drove Zdi,did not felt like a diesel mill, but vibration on clutch was felt,he does not notice it cause he has a driver.
Average that his ertiga gives in mumbai western suburbs is 16kmpl.
@TAIDhana, yes gray looks very beautiful to me and Dolphin name for ertiga is gaining traction and I love to call it dolphin because it is a very intelligent machine.

@patkar, cheers for gray Dolphin, happy to hear that you inspired your brother with your G dolphin.
I visited Kalyani motor's stockyard twice just to decide color, where I compared all colors at once.
regarding clutch I too had it in the initial phase now my Dolphin looks perfect in all.
my FE so far is 18kmpl avg in all condition.

Kinky re-paint your red dolphin to gray, we need you as a member in gray club.
yesterday I drove my Dolphin around 200km it feels as sporty as swift to handle and very nice to drive in tight place.

yes waiting is the painful job than anything, so I rejected Ecosport thats the 1 good reason of many and went on purchasing ertiga without a second thought.

Red is also good , I have done initial booking as Red then got it changed to Grey after 2 months. Only thing with Red is that if it is well polished then it looks very exotic.

I am also fond of Red:
1: Red(Burgundy) Caliber (Sold)
2: Red Activa (still having)
3: Red pulsar (sold)
4: Red Street (Sold).

Now current rides are: Grey (Ertiga), Red(Activa) and White (ZMR)

@Ranger,
It is not a simple manual buddy, read it carefully service schedule page where everything would be specified. Always stick to manufacturers recommendations

Hi Vipul, Thank you very much and very happy to see that you read everything, Hope you enjoyed.
Definitely enjoyed reading the thread and liked the pics even more. The car is looking really good and no doubt the choice of color is really great.
BTW, if you don't use all seven seats then what about removing the third row and sliding the middle row at the back most position on rails. Here I have seen a couple of Ertiga owners who have done the same. This has left the car like a 5 seater UV with big boot and very spacious cabin.

Alloys are optional and I dont like the standard alloys of Ertiga so I didnt opt it. but technically those alloys returning very good FE compared to steel rim.
I guess upto 5-10% difference between the FE can be expected. What's your take? And If the difference is higher then why?

Bangalore,
So you guys met somewhere at Bangalore?
Yes Appu we met at Kempe gowda railyway station banaglore, I went to pick him from station and later we had a nice discussion after that RK drove my car all the away to bhomanahalli which is around 22km.
I was in a hurry since I had go back to home to pick my mom and dad to visit our village to meet my daughter she is 4 month old now.

Happy to know that you enjoyed all the pics and color of the car, thank you
My family and friends are many in number so I usually use 7 seats except when i travel to office and home. before I bought Ertiga I took my entire family to check whether they can travel and sit comfortably, all got good impression in all aspects so Ertiga for me is no more a small car.
Even I went to book Ecosport but somehow I found it smaller than i20 and punto as per as shoulder room is concerned at the back and my mom rejected straight away.

Regarding FE( with alloys or without alloys ) Im not sure about the figures may be your expectation is true but for me its more depends on ones driving style and road condition. In india we cannot find good roads so I cannot predict.

Major reason for steel rim is the STD alloys are not that appealing to me and I can save 30k if I buy with steel rim Ertiga.

@vipul,
Nice to see you back and active on the forum

Yes that is the advantage of Ertiga using 7 or 5 seater depending on the need
+100 I agreed me too happy about vipuls return.

Okay,

It is much delayed, find my impressions of first drive of the Ertiga of Mr.Ranger

- Nice exterior and interior view
- Good space inside
- Good Head and leg room
- Comfortable seating position
- Steering is very light
- Never felt like driving a lengthy car
- clutch is light
- no turbo lag
- Easy to drive
- Good turbo kick like Ritz and Swift
- Acceptable boot space when 3rd row is not folded and excellent boot space if you fold 3rd row
- Mileage seems to be good according to Mrranger
- A personal and family vehicle
- Value for money
- Gear shift is short and good
- Nice music system(stock)
- 2nd row space is good

This ticks lot of boxes for a family man[:)]
