I wasn't convinced with quality of stitches on the armrest and requested for replacement. The retailer has agreed to replace. Hence sending it back to him. Will have to wait another week for fixing the armrest I guess.

3rd Service full details and Updates.

Car status:

Age: 6 months 20days
KMs done: 11k km

Performance issue: Car lost some horses.

Story: I left my car for service yesterday, which is the day after the Ugadi festival, I was hoping for less crowd and luckily only few cars were there for service.
I called my SE and asked him to take a note of service items other than free service list.
since my car already covered 11k km and ran with synthetic Oil, I decided to change oil this time.
while going for service only I decided to switch it back to mineral Oil, when I asked him about the price of the mineral Oil I was shocked, now 3.1lt oil cost you 2.6k rupees [frustration]

, earlier it was just ~800 rupees.
By looking at the price difference between mineral and synthetic I asked him to put synthetic oil this time also. 3300/-

OilFilter: 300/-

Since I already know that my car lost some horses so I asked him to change Air Filter. 400/-

SE said wheel balancing and alignments also recommended, so alignment cost you 470/- and weights cost 300/-

consumables: 100/-

I asked my SE to give a good wash all over my car and tight all necessary bolts,suspension check up, brake check up.

STILL I WAS NOT CONVINCED about oil choice this time,
So called RK since he is a Maruti car owner from long and asked his help to pick engine oil type this time. He said mineral
since Maruti is already changed mineral oil grade for Diesel engines and mineral is the recommended so I decided to put Mineral only.

RK also said not to opt for wheel alignment and balancing at dealer, since they wont do it properly.

So I called my SE and asked to put mineral oil only and not to do any wheel alignment and all. I asked him to do rest.

I left my car for service at 11 am and SE asked me to come at 5pm.

I went to service station and found that my car is washed very well and looking brand new, I really liked the cleaning work this time specially.

I opened my car's bonnet and found this

People is it look like new Oil? at least the color is bad and just look like old oil, I asked my friend to call my (my safari)mechanic unfortunately he was not responding.
I told my SE on his face that this oil is old, he was very shocked and rushed to get his mechanic to convince me,
I also sent this picture to RK for his opinion he also got some doubt but he said it is ok.

I use to put near 7ltrs of oil to my safari's engine and the oil use to look brown at least till 1.5k km (at 5k km interval), our ertiga case is different it takes only 3.3 ltrs of oil but you can only put 3.1 ltr since around 200ml old oil cannot be flushed out, so the color can change to black very soon after the 1st ignition once the oil change is done(at 10k km interval).

Best part: the moment I started driving car, I realized the my SE has done a very good job,
he sorted all the issues I reported, my ertiga gained back few more horses and very quick now,
body noise is considerably less,
engine sound is great now,

Service Bill:
Oil: 1600/-
Oil filter: 300/-
consumables: 100/-
don't remember rest
total 2500/-
My SE addressed each and every issue and I'm going to give 10/10 rating this time

My LUV has just gone for service yesterday.
I have notified them about some scratches on the body, don't know what would they do about that.

Hey MRRanger, that color of oil is usual. Always check if the oil is sticky instead by judging the colour. Good to know you are finally happy :)

They have called us to take delivery of the car tomorrow.
They are just surface scratches. One small portion of paint was scraped in front of the left rear wheel (arch) and another minor scratch on the rear bumper which I caused while reversing and hit a plant pot in Chennai. They said they have repainted the wheel arch but don't know about the bumper scratch. Will update after delivery tomorrow.

Hi Friends,

After seeing the new Honda City- ICE, I am thinking why not I should get same sort of ICE for Ertiga instead of stock one. Now I think, why did I spent 10K on reverse parking camera and 6K for Jabra Freeway instead of that I could have bought a nice ICE which with all the required features.

My requirement is :HU which should be capable
1:Bluetooth
2:Touch screen (here I should be able to search songs from usb)
3: 7 inch
4: Reverse camera compatible.
5: It can take care of GPS, is there any android base where I can load sygic map.
6: Should able to play videos.
7: Good voice command.
8: It should be 100% compatible to existing steering control buttons.
9: Is there any android based?
10: No Chinese product, looking for a good and reliable brand.

Please advice on some more points:
1: Will I get any resale value for stock Nippon HU (ZDI model) or this HU can be fitted to Spark mid variant which is at home.

2: Can I use a nice android tab or even I-Pad. I am having Galaxy Tab 2 but can get a better one if needed for car.

3: Any chance for voiding warranty.

@MrRanger,

If the oil was sticky and black it is old oil , if its red and thin/viscous it is new oil. New oils are red in colour not golden.

I own Ertiga ZDI (Nov 2013 make) and i just submitted it to the service station for my second free service. I was advised for wheel balancing but i rejected saying its not required for a car 6 months old.
But my SE said they will again rotate tyres..so, my question is 'do i now need to get wheels balanced?'

It should be done for every 5000-6000 KM. And no need to doubt the M.A.S.S on this. I prefer to get it done at service center rather outside.
