now you should ready to face seat rattling sounds after some KMs, before going out for floor lamination you better check with maruti dealer for the availability if they are providing lamination then get it done with them because in future you may see some seat rattle and you may not be in the position to question them if you get it done out side.

Please post some pictures of the seat covers. How much did they cost you?

BTW - what happened to your broken windshield ?
they fixed it under warranty, he even posted this stuff I guess.

anshuman,
I have ordered the seat covers from Pratham Motors .
They have Art Leather from Stanleo luster leather which costed me 8k. The labour charges are free. there is some kind of smell now but it should go over a period of time.
Reg. broken Windshield,
Maruti replaced it under warranty. they felt that the crack started by a stone hit but as a good will to the Customer, agreed to replace.

Hi Ranger,

So far no rattling issues in my car other than small sounds from back which is not noticeable now.
I inquired about the floor lamination during my seat cover installation with Pratham Motors. They won't do any floor lamination. They asked me to do it from outside.
What should I do now?

yesterday I loaded our LUV with full of glossaries with 3rd row down fully. and tested leg space and comfort at 2nd row, guess what no problem for 2nd row passengers,
1st i moved 2nd row all the way front and i dropped 3rd row seats down, latter i pushed 2nd row back, here are some pics
That's my default configuration. I have removed head rests of 3rd rows and folded it and using it in 'estate' mode. Only for occasional full load ride, 3rd row is used. Without head rest options provides additional 2 - 3 inches of leg room for 2nd row.

I was also considering height reduction of 3rd row, by trimming around 3 inches of the hump in last row with help of upholstery guy. Even checked with 4 - 5 folks regarding the same - but none of them had done already & were not confident doing it as well. Hence dropped the idea. But I read in a forum about the same. Another 2 - 3 inches in 2nd row will make Ertiga best in class from space perspective.

My LUV carries 7 people most of the time, so I try this hardly once in 2 months, this time we purchased more stuff so I tried this,
my idea was just to push 2nd row seats all the way front and make 3rd row a flat bed, later forceful push back of 2nd row so it feels like a saloon.

I didnt get your idea of height reduction of 3rd row please elaborate it buddy, I'm bit confused and curious to know what exactly it is.

if it doesnt then it will be good,
I remember what SE told me when I complain about seat rattles, 1st question was "is your car fitted with after market seat covers? then it is normal", I replied that I purchased it from you guys only and the responsibility is purely on you to fix my car, at that point he got stunned and told me that service people wont do that but the accessory guy will fix it.
I told him that it is not my business to communicate this to him, I asked SE to do whatever he needs to do but i need my seat rattles to be fixed.

2nd question he asked is about floor lamination, surprisingly i never done that

No brother I didnt remove it, it is not required to remove.
By removing it, you can make more room bro!
You can remove the headrests only if you need to fold the seats, whenever you want to.
If there is a necessity to fold the 3rd row, I remove the headrests and stow them inside the underfloor compartment in the boot. This gives some extra legroom at the back, even though the 3rd row is folded (much needed for my height). Then after you unloaded the luggage, unfold the seats and insert the headrests again. Simple!

As DJ Bro had also explained, many of us have stowed 3rd row headrest in the compartment in boot. Removing headrest of 3rd row, allows 2nd row to be pushed back by at least 3 inches. In this setup too, you can notice that only humps (where headrest is fixed) of the 3rd row seat touches 2nd row seats. So if we find a good upholstery guy who can open up the original seat cover & cut sponge and other structure inside by another 3 inches (& stitch it back), we will get more space for 2nd row.

Please see attached pic - what I meant is cutting the seat across the orange line..

Found the original link where I read about it.. http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...ki-ertiga-zdi-bought-ownership-review-83.html

But, if the part of the seats are cut, then we have to re-engineer the seats with the headrests mechanisms. Moreover, cutting the seats will compromise the comfort of the passengers.

I had 3 inches removed the day I got my ertiga I thought it was worth doing to give the 2nd row passengers maximum space. This is for highway trips where the third row is folded for luggage. I don't see how 3rd row safety is compromised as the head rests can still be used.

Can you please post photos of your sits with this 3 inches cut.
Also, it will be helpful if you can share information on what all it took to remove three inches.
Also, was there any additional rattles or any other disturbances due to this modification.
Thanks in advance

Nice to see your reply.

I indeed traced your original response (& guess you are the only one who has done this modification in this forum). Can you please share photograph which will give us ideas on how it looks post the modification?
