Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

Dear Manuman,Kinshuak and all,
Thanks for dropping in.

1) I will sure want to get in Touch with Mr Anand, atleast as a feedback of vehicle. I do not use twitter, is there another channel?

2)For those who are following the thread since beginning, You know all the mess due to Touchscreen HU resetting. I had written to Mr Sanjoy gupta. The problem seems solved but I had to make 3 Rounds to nashik (350km x3 =1k Kms). Also about 5 visits to various service centers including Aurangabad, Jalgaon, Dhule. In short i have travelled atleast 2.5k Kms just to get it fixed![frustration]
They didn't pay anything for that!

3) The Service guys did'nt go for complete clutch replacement saying that it will be fine, also dad was with senior people did'nt want to stop and spoil his mood anymore.

4)I think it would be fair to Fight that we get our warranties extended atleast to 5 years and running is quite low but repeated problems are coming up!

5) I am going to shoot emails after the vehicle is back incluing mr Sanjoy and Mr Anand, Do let me know your Plans Kinshuk. If we 3~4 people shoot emails at once they may oblige.

Hello everyone, its discouraging to read about such repetitive issues and nothing concrete being done.

I had the same 'clutch completely depressed' issue at 27k kms and then after another 22k kms similar pre-failure indications were showing up so I went to the service centre before the clutch went in.
Result: clutch failure and flywheel disc wear but no free replacement this time, like before. I guess I should have just waited till the clutch 'slave cylinder' went bust, maybe then they would do things differently.

Man did'nt you try to fight with customercare this time?
What was the charges for Clutch and other parts?
Why don't you fight for extended warranty as you have suffered repeated problems?

Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

I got a call from Mahindra (feedback call)
and I told that I'm not exactly pleased with the reliability of the vehicle, and I'm raising a Complaint with mr sanjoy gupta.
I also had a word with the supervisor of president motors who was overlooking my xuv. I asked why not replaced clutch and flywheel also?

he said-' clutch bahut accaha hair sir... it will last till 70k kms!! we replace clutch If the slave oil has leaked on clutch plate, your was not leaked so no need to replace your clutch'

please comment on his explanation guys!

Hi Bhvm, I dont think anyone can comment on the supervisor's comment untill and unless one is a n expert mechanic or a mechanical engineer themselves. But logically speaking in this issue the Slave cylinder is the first thing that goes bust and then thereafter the other things like clutch plates, flywheels etc take the damage so as per that logic his comment should be good enough, rest I am not sure about.

Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

it means that if slave cylinders fail, the clutch partially rubs against the flywheel etc, then goes bad?
in case of harish, he experienced power loss and clutch slippage before cylinders went toast. that was not my case.

I guess a lot of members are almost as good as Mechanic and engineers.

vibhor, singh890, raj ,carloverjosh,
where are you guys?
clj diagnosed my problem even before the car was taken to service.

we should fight for a 5 year warranty. what say kinshuk?

As of now the vehicles are under 3 year warranty and even that is not useful in such cases as the supervisor can say anything ranging from wear and tear to manufacturing defect.

Does anybody know what all parts are covered under the 3 year warranty scheme? the electricals are also covered or just the engine and drivetrain?

Electricals are certainly covered. I got HU and touchscreen replaced thrice. what a shame.

engine and Mechanicals seems covered other than wear and tear. fuel and Water pumps are covered.

I am not sure either to get the 2 yr extended warranty, last time when I met DyGM service center suggested me to go for it. It will cost another 18-20k but it does not cover general wear and tear. Compressor, engine may be a few others are covered but is that real worth??

with the cost of conponents, I'd say it's worth it.
we anyways spend 50k on Insurance.

Dear bhvm, there is no need to go for extended warranty if this problem was caused by wear and tear. If it has been caused by some other reason then do go for it. Take care, hoping to see the beast running again.

Dear bhvm after thinking about it it actually takes sense to go for extended warranty because you might not know when something bad happens ( god forbid) and you might need it. The cost of components is already quite high so do take extended warranty. Any updates on the condition of the beast? Waiting eagerly to hear from you.

the vehicle will return on Tuesday or so.
it's working fine otherwise. my dad is a very sedate driver and I'm excited to see FE and other stuff. I will comment once again after seeing the SUV In person

btw, I'm driving a friends w4. I will make a comparo.upon reaching home.

Dear bhvm, I am waiting eagerly for the beast to be fine because its sad to see a friend with the car which my parents are going and me are going to buy isn't well. Just take care. Anyways would be great to see a comparo between W8 and W4. Like the new Honda dream yuga,cd and neo say that the they are different but good in each others way.
