Posting here after a long time

My ecosport is fine and in the past 7 months am using it with in city traffic (whitefield, k r puram, indra nagar, ramamurthy nagar and sorroundings) am getting a mileage of 14 kmpl with full ac

Next month is my cars third b'day need to renew insurance policy, planning to take b2b insurance from liberty videocon any better suggestions or input on insurance

I want to change my wiper for my ES AT. Any suggestion for good brands. And also I need to know the size of ES wiper (front & rear).

FYI - I paid a premium of 12600/- For my renewal(2nd year) LIBERTY VIDEOCON. Zero dep + ( 3m polish and a Car wash) as freebies . See if this helps .

For me videocon offers b2b @ 139xx for my ecosport diesel opt model
That covers 1 lakh insurance for passengers and 2 lakhs insurance for driver and road side assistance

Let me bargain for some more

Dear members,

I am in bit of a dilemma and need some advice. I had booked 1.0 T+ grey in first week of July. Where the dealer said it's not available and will take around 2 months. This week the dealer said car is billed and shipped by ford and has landed in dealer WH. However when checking for the manufacturing month it turns out to be June manufactured and looks like has been billed through some other dealer and alloted to my dealer through some national pool. Couple of questions that I am not able to find convincing answers from my dealer?
1. I was expecting since the car is not available and is billed and dispatched from ford in August it should be August or max July manufactured?
2. Dealer is unable to trace which dealer the car was originally billed to?
3. Dealer is making some or other story to explain that sometimes ford dispatched couple of month old cars also. Is it possible?

Any comments highly appreciated.

I cannot confirm if the dealer is telling you the half truth or a complete lie. He will never tell you complete truth.
You can try to ask some discount for accepting 3-4 month old model with proper PDI. If he doesn't give you discount or the vehicle raises any suspicion, request for a fresh car with due wait.
don't show your desperation.

Cheko-As an owner of 1.0 T smoke Grey bought last Oct 14- I can totally understand your feeling of getting it.

The dealer is probably giving some BS- I think one of his earlier customers has cancelled a booking.

I think you should try to ask them to give you a new car when it arrives. If you want to go through with it.

Please state inspect/ see the car in stockyard, if ODO shows any KM more than 50KM- it could be due to other reasons.

Ask for a discount for being 2-3 months old. At resale they always take date of Manufacture, not date of Registration.

Thanks @quantized and @adivik have asked the dealer to issue fresh stock. As per him they're trying to get allocation from Ford. I will update how it goes.

This is most probably a case of a cancelled booking. This is actually what could have happened:

You booked the car and dealer accepted the booking giving you all the details of waiting and what not.
Now suddenly he came to know that some friendly dealer of him has a same spec car lying in his stockyard which was a cancelled booking. Now the car is June 2015 manufactured and the dealer who has the car in his yard will be tensed as it's getting old.
So after some dealership level talks, they just brought the car to their dealership; maybe by driving (My Corolla had 200+ kms on odo at the time of delivery but the car was driven to the dealer in mm city after taking prior permission from me) and hence have a look at the odo reading too.

Now what? The dealer will desparately want to part from this car ASAP and this can be an opportunity for you to easily save 25-30k bucks or even 40.

The vehicle will be billed on your name now so the warranty will be intact. If everything found okay; then there is nothing wrong in buying this car, just tell them straight away that this is a June 2015 model and you are ready to take it only if they can give you enough discounts. Get a thorough PDI done using the TAI PDI checklist and take the car if its okay (I guess it will be okay though), the car is hardly 2-3 months old and this much is normal; believe me. Hence I'd recommend you to press for a good deal being very straight and if they offer then grab this one, else go on for a fresh stock car.

You can 100% rely on them Blindly. I took Liberty Videocon for my Second Yr (2014) for 15K B2B with Add-on (ES TREND TDCI 2013) while Dealer Insurance Quoted me 23K (Royal Sundaram) for same.

I happened to claim two days ago due to some Hit in the back and had some dents in the Trunk door below the ES Bade and behind the Spare wheels.
Ford ASS wanted to change the whole trunk Door, Stepney Holder (Angle) and the rear Bumpers too. So it B2B (Nil Dep) claim. Now the vehicle is in the Garage (MPL Ford). I got the approval for it post survey from Liberty Videocon guys. Its in-fact a cashless claim. My Spare Wheel cover side wall got cracked during this, which doesn't get covered in the insurance (Cost around 15K). However I planned to retain the same, as the crack is barely visible.

Hope your Estimate includes NCB %

Went for 40K service last week. Total service cost was Rs. 4607/-. Apart from the usual consumables, got AC filter changed though it was supposed to be changed at 50K service and change was immediately noticed as cooling was pretty fast afterwards.

There is one problem that I'd like to point and I've observed in many ES till now. The rear stop light, mounted on top center on boot door, has stopped working. One of my friend was trailing me and he informed me about it. I than noticed the same problem in many ES. Seems Ford did not put the right check before putting up that light. SA said that light, along with enclosure, will be changed but wasn't available at the time of service. I'll be checking with them this monday to check for it.

Update:

The dealer has managed to get fresh vehicle dispatched from the plant and its on the way.

@Tsivipul, You are bang on in your analysis of the situation, however the dealer was not offering any discounts hence decided to go for fresh stock. Thanks.

Now Saarji what to do, awesomeness is a part of the personality of we engineers :biggrin:

Since the dealer is not offering the discount of a rupee then let the ES rot in their yard and get yourself nothing but a new car.

In case you find some issues or dealer tries to create some sort of issues in providing you with a fresh stock then just drop me a pm with your name, dealer name and the booking info you have.

Just completed 3700 KM today, and I feel My ride is well worth its cost. The only thing that I miss is central armrest in front and rear.

For Front, I am contemplating the following option:

Has anyone tried this or a similar product ?

Also, I thing the steering wheel is to slim, and lacks the grip, do you have any place in mind (in NCR) where I can get a good leather / PU steering cover, or is there any better option ?

Has anyone gone for the FOrd fitted IRVM display + Reverse camera. What's the price and how is the quality ?
