i actually tried creta yesterday.
I tried to observe and evaluate with an open mind and if justified, may think for a swap specially he AT (17+ OTR)[anger].

Looks are certainly gorgeous but still does not create the shock and awe reaction which ecosport did in its dawn. So the hoopla around looks will fade away within a year.

Rear bench width is exactly same as ecosport. Not an inch more. And thigh support is a little less. Bench is very low and windows are very high, so rear bench is not a place to be in despite of rear AC vents.

Driver Seat..... I can tell you nothing in creta comes close to Ecosport's driver's seat. At maximum hight, it was still lower than ES. The road view was not as good as in Ecosport. Gadget wise, barring Sat-Nav, they are at par.

Creta is a good package, but frankly telling I did not see a 20% value it brings for the premium it is charging over Ecosport. Boot is certainly large, but for me Ecosport boot is more than sufficient.

1.6 Diesel Engine is good, but if you ask 4-5 lakhs just for extra 20 BHP, naah.

I started loving my Ecosport again. Thanks Creta
Hmm,
Seems like the compact SUV segment has started saturation, also the Creta is slightly over priced but not too much, the updated Ecosport with better suspension tuning and better engine refinement, more power and torque and slightly more standard features will hit Indian market by 2016, seems if Ford dosent increase price with face lift the facelift Ecosport might bring in some numbers for Ford Mo Co,
The pre facelift Ecosport was worst selling compact SUV in Europe bsck in 2014, but by 2015 it has become 4th best seller from nowhere, so its a good sign.

Hi All,
I plan to buy Ford Ecosport Trend (Diesel) which will be my first car. I am based in Pune and plan to bring it home by Sept 2015. I saw a loads of comments/reviews and cannot wait for buying this one. My daily usage will be around 50 kms and very occasional trips to Mumbai-Pune and nearby places. Need your advice :
1. Should prefer which model/manufacturing year?
2. On Road price that you know (buying in Pune)
3. Any issues that need fixes such as engine noise and/or headlight brightness.
4. Anything on tyres (I hate punctures)
5. Do's and Don'ts (if you feel like sharing) any heads up!
Thank you in advance.

Hi All,

3. Any issues that need fixes such as engine noise and/or headlight brightness.
4. Anything on tyres (I hate punctures)
.
I changed my headlight from OEM to Hella Powerlight. There is some improvement, although the light throw and brightness is still unsatisfactory. You might need to shift to projectors, if you want to get definite improvements.

I had got MRF ZV2K as OEM and within a month I had suffered a big puncture on rear right wheel. I was on verge of changing the tyres , but the general advise was that ZV2K is good for Indian road conditions. The other option is Bridgestone Potenza G3. The wheel noise on ZV2K is also very annoying. If you want to change wheels then do so at the earliest after purchase to get a good buy back.

Am on this idea of converting my ecosport to 4 wheel drive. Anyone done this , ideas on feasibility of this adventure or misadventure [;)]
Its almost impossible @Golden, there is no rear axle and no differential as well to transfer power to rear wheels, also the AWD Ecosports in Brazil are slightly different to Indian ones, the centre tunnel shoudl be taller to accomodate the transfer case as well.
So its nearly impossible...
Hope Ford releases an AWD ECOSPORT petrol at least in India.

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

Need expert help & advise!!!

I wish to install an amp and sub woofer once my ES is delivered. In my i10 i have pioneer oval speakers at the back tray which is connected to the sony 5 channel amp. Even at high volume the quality is really good. But in ES as the company fitted speakers are in the door, will adding an amp to it cause rattling sounds and degrade the quality of sound? Whenever volume is kept high will it bring in additional noise of the door?

What is the suggested option to install an amp and SW in ES with good sound quality?
I have the same query. Can someone help me??

After 1.5 years of incident free driving, Murphy's law caught up with me and my Ecosport met with an accident. An Innova full of more than a dozen people was tailgating me and did not judge the braking distance and slammed into my car's back. My speed around 10-20kph. Innova's speed ? no idea. All occupants in my car were wearing seat belts. Kid was safe in the carseat. Post impact, my driver side door came ajar, but did not fully open, on it's own (!!!). It's debatable if that is good for safety or not.

I got down to inspect damage - a mild dent in the tailgate and license plate bent - probably the spare wheel absorbed the impact. One rear parking sensor knocked inside the socket. But took a look at the Innova who crashed into me - the whole bonnet had caved in with oil leaking on the road. The Innova driver showed some bluster in trying to blame me (offence is the best defence). But luckily the locals sided with me. I drove on after doing some basic checks on my car. The Innova guy had to call road side assistance.

Some pics of my car post damage:

@Bopanna
Is there any difference in driving after the impact, hope everybody inside car were fine,
Also the Innovas front is made cheap but its definitely built solid unlike some cheap Toyotas, even if Ecosport had a front crash, probably there would have been enough damage to call for road side assistance.
Hits from the back are shockers, lot of sound and impulsive fear too accompany these kinds of impact,
Hope @Bopanna had insured the car as well,

@Bopanna, I think you should file for Insurance, as it could be costly to fix. If I were you I would pressed a case against the Innova or made him accept to repair your car through his Insurance as it is clearly his fault.

Guy Tailgates and has the guts to claim you are at fault.

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

Got the vehicle serviced today and the Fuel filter costs a whopping Rs 3397.68 Please find the details at my ownership thread here:http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...ort-1-5-tdci-titanium-20k-service-done-8.html
Upon asking regarding the cost of this filter, the service personnel said its because the fuel filter is made up of metal as against that of plastic in case of figo. It was hard for me to digest the exorbitant price and for this reason[frustration]
It looks like they cheated you, I got the third service done 1 month back. Total charge for 30 K service was 5226 Rs and Fuel Filter costs 1482.96 Rs only. Mine is Diesel Ecosport.

I am impressed with the quality of Ecosport in less then a month of its ownership. I had a similar experience, but I was at fault, and I was the one tailgating on my ecosport. I collided with an Elite i20, and it was a disaster for him. His boot caved in, bumper came out and even the rear window got a crack. While my Ecosport, recieved some minor scratches on chrome grill.

I felt sorry for that man, and have agreed to pay whatever is charged over what his insurance company pays him. The guy, said he would be replacing his car with a ford.[;)]

On a side note, I am looking forward to get a leather steering and gear know cover in my car, Can any one help me with some accessories shop in Noida or anywhere else in NCR for this. I am looking forward for a shop which is as good in doing interiors as is Orchis in Mumbai
