Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

Still in the process of understanding the functionalities of Gizmos of my grand i10. I wonder how to do the followings:
1. Switch off only engine in traffic light - meaning that I want to continue fan, radio, Bluetooth etc. When you switch off the on/off knob, engine as well as all others get switched off. I know with half clutch, you can force only engine to shut off, but there should be better way
2. Heard from dealer that there is master switch that can be switched off if car is not going to be in use for several days..

thank you in advance.

1. You can do that, but with Push button I don't know, but with key, just turn once to turn on radio and fan. And crank to start the engine. So it should be same with Push button. Try your manual.

2. Yes. Little bit right below the steering wheel, you see big inverted rectangular box. Open it and you can see the master switch. Turn it off in case if you need.

Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

hello friends .i have bought grand i 10 magna petrol yesterday.
i am concerned about its antena because it has bent because of body cover stress on it..what should i do.can i remove it while covering the car.or is it easy to be replaced? if yes..what wud be its cost or is it available ouside in the market.do reply friends
I guess you must be using some aftermarket car cover. I have purchased Grand i10 cover from dealer itself which has space for antenna.
You can remove antenna, but i would suggest you to buy original car cover rather than doing all those niggles.

To use the music system press the power button once without depressing the clutch...to use the aircon and the window up/down buttons press again without depressing the clutch. The power button will glow amber.

1. A very valid point. I never thought of it in my Xcent. But there should be a way for this.
Stuck in a traffic signal for more than 120 seconds, i would like to turn off the engine only & not the radio & air con..

I'm sure it is not possible to keep the radio/fans/BT ON when start/stop button is pressed to turn off the engine on a signal. They should have copied the traditional key system.
1, Press the start/stop button to check all the lights near ODO meter.
2, Hold the clutch and press start/stop button to start the engine.

Revers the above process to turn off the engine, this way the radio/BT would still be ON.

Master switch is right below the staring wheel in the fuse box. When you turn it off there will be no alarm if someone breaks into your car and you will loss all the audio/timer settings. Also once the car is locked you will have to manually open the door with the key.

Hi,
Do you people get Buzzer Sound while locking and unlocking with remote. My vehicle don't produce any. Couldn't determine is it locked or not.

Grand i10 does not make that sound, the lights blink, I hear this is the same for all premium cars...same way on the amaze...Our wagon R does the usual sound. You may check the manual or with the service engineer if the sound can be programmed from the key.

My only concern is it is difficult to find in a parking lot.[confused] And not sure what happens if one of the door is not locked properly.

The blinkers won't work. So yes you have to look at the car while locking unless you are sure all doors are locked.

If you close all the doors and forget to lock...The car autolocks after a while provided the key is with you...Other grand owners please confirm...another thing is that if engine is on and you leave the key inside and exit the vehicle and close all doors then a buzzer reminds you

Thank you for the information. Same information I just got from dealer. I have not checked yet the effect it has on BT and time it takes to reconnect BT if mobile is being used, so is the music.... Do you think this is the design fault ?

In the manual key, one step down, only engine is off, two step down engine plus music etc would be off, one more step down to lock the steering ...if I am not mistaken.

I've not got the DRLs as of yet. The fog lamp holder itself has to be changed. You cannot add on to the current set of fog lamps. You get a new set of holders with built in LEDs. It's not available in India as of yet.
THanks nikhn, i installed the l shaped DRLS in the front grill and it seems to be fit.
