Just when I almost finalized Tab2, Samsung released Tab3. And now this Nexus 7 makes the Samsung Tab3 feel like crap. Such awesome specs Nexus 7 packs at 14K I guess no other tab offers such specs at this price point.
makes sense to buy this visa-v tab 2. and you will be among the first to get all android updates :)
being 32gb is a major plus.

yes, 32gb is what is tempting me. Moreover, 1gb is certainly not a deal breaker for me as I'd be installing it in my car in place of my HU. How are the viewing angles nitin, if you have experienced it?

How about this, I guess if this materializes it would be the biggest thing that would have happened to mobile industry in decades.
This is same as what happened to personal computers years ago. First there were IBM, MAC, and others, building their own machine with their own specs and technology. Then it was all standardized and now you can assemble your PC with each part in it from different vendor. Hope to see the same revolution in hand held devices soon.

1gb ram is sufficient to run almost everything. viewing angles will be somewhat an issue since the resolutions are low but anytime better than Tab2. Nexus 7 has a resolution of 1200x800 rather than 1024x800 of tab 2. i.e 216 ppi vs 170 ppi.

negatives would be no hdmi port, no sd card slot and no back camera. but then as your usage is different, nexus 7 foots the bill perfectly.

the sd card issue is also solved with this > Mini MicroSD Card Reader for Android.

good decision not to buy iphone 5 but equally bad decision to wait for 5s or 5c

Looks wise and even branding is the same. unless your dad can carry the gold color or the other colors with aplomb, it makes no sense to get 5S or C.

EDIT : battery backup is not so good with iphone 5 and same battery is in 5S or C. hardly lasts a day with heavy usage. i am posting this coz i remember you abusing Grand coz of the battery backup.

More HTC one dual sim's 802d arrive in india and latest arrivals are from china
earlier models were from Taiwan
as of now officially 13600 handsets have landed in india
seems HTC is gaining good ground with such a premium priced handset.

i think we will see a price drop soon to capture more market
coz of the exchange rate earlier ones from taiwan costed them 33500 and latest ones from china are costing them 36473.

Samsung readies to compete with Nokia Lumia 520, 620 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Samsung is finally feeling the heat from Nokia’s successful Windows 8 devices. The company will soon launch phones that will take the battle on with mid-ranged Nokia Lumia devices.

While Microsoft is yet to register success with its own Windows 8 operating system, Nokia is marching ahead with its Windows 8 powered platter of devices. Now the Android devices giant in India, Samsung is feeling threatened from Nokia’s low cost Lumia devices. The company will be launching two phones in India that will cost below Rs. 15K in India.

“We will be launching two new smart phones priced for the mid-segment market. Every phone from Samsung will have nine vernacular language options,” Samsung Country Head (Mobile Business) Vineet Taneja told PTI.

These two phones are expected to be dual sim phones and will support Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati languages.

A company official according to techfat said the phones may be priced in the Rs. 5,000-15,000 range and will be launched this month.

The company is also gearing to compete with the flagship 6.44 inch device from Sony, the Xperia Z Ultra.

pricing is ok, HTC launched HTC One dual sim for about 53k and HTC Butterfly S is around 55k.

but it boils down to what size is the right size. 5.7" cant be termed as a phone hence we call them phablets. and then we have apple which thinks 4" is apt :banghead:

I feels tablets will become extinct soon. unless you are buying a 10" tablet which i feel is the proper size else multitask with a note 2/3 or the xperia z ultra @ 6.4" or the galaxy mega @ 6.3".
