TCL 10L, TCL 10 Pro, and TCL 10 5G officially launched

The TCL 10 5G shares some of its features with the TCL 10L but adds a more powerful processor, better cameras, and a bigger battery. So you get the same 6.53-inch FHD+ display and display chip. The processor inside is a Snapdragon 765G and it is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage (1TB max.). The primary rear camera is a 64MP f/1.9 camera. There is an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Its selfie camera is a 16MP sensor.

The TCL 10 Pro makes up for its higher price tag with a 6.47-inch curved AMOLED FHD+ display. However, it ditches the punch-hole for a notch. Just like its siblings, it too comes with a dedicated display engine for real-time SDR to HDR conversion.
There is a Snapdragon 675 processor inside along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There is a MicroSD card slot, so owners can add up to an extra 256GB. There is a 64MP GW1 camera on the back along with a 16MP f/2.4 ultrawide angle camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP f/1.8 depth sensor. The selfie camera is a 24MP sensor.

Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, A51 5G, A21 and other 2020 A-series models launched

Samsung has unveiled a number of its 2020 Galaxy A-series models for the US market. The A-series smartphones unveiled includes the much-touted Galaxy A71 5G, the Galaxy A51 5G and the Galaxy A21. Some of the models will go on sale on Thursday (April 9) in the US while others, including the Galaxy A71 5G and Galaxy A51 5G, are scheduled to be released in the summer.

The Samsung Galaxy A71 5G is an upgraded version of the Galaxy A71 that was launched earlier this year. The phone has the same design with its sibling and the 5G chipset onboard this new variant is the only distinguishing feature.

LG Style3 launched with 48MP camera setup, Snapdragon 845 SoC

The LG Style3 features a 6.1-inch (3120 x 1440 pixels) QHD+ OLED display. It packs a Snapdragon 845 processor with Adreno 630 GPU which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot up to 512GB.

The phone is waterproof with IP68 and IPX5 ratings. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and there’s the Docomo carrier branding below it. Connectivity options on the LG phone include a 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack.

Lenovo A7 launched with Unisoc SC9863 processor and 13MP dual cameras

The Lenovo A7 features a 6.07-inch waterdrop display with 87% high screen ratio design. The resolution is not revealed but as per Google Play Console listing which surfaced last month, the phone will have a 720 x 1560 pixels HD+ resolution and a pixel density of 320 ppi. The smartphone is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core Unisoc SC9863A processor with PoweVR IMG8322 GPU. The listing also revealed that it has 2GB RAM and runs on Android 9 Pie OS. A fingerprint reader is available on the backside of the device.

Oppo Reno Ace 2 with 5G, Snapdragon 865, 90Hz display launched

The Oppo Reno Ace 2 packs a Snapdragon 865, which is backed by up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. It offers support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Turbo Write and Host Performance Boost (HPB). There is a 6.55-inch OLED display with 2400 x 1080p resolution, HDR10+ support cand a 91.8 percent screen-to-body-ratio. The display is protected by a 5th generation Corning Gorilla Glass. It supports 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, 1100nits brightness, and 90Hz refresh rate.

The OPPO Ace2 is priced at RMB 3,999, which is around Rs 43,250 in India. This price is for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant will cost RMB 4,399 (approximately Rs 47,580). The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at RMB 4,599, which is around Rs 49,740.

OnePlus 8 series with 5G launched

The OnePlus 8 comes with a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with 20:9 aspect ratio, HDR 10+ support, and 3D corning gorilla glass. It offers support for sRGB, and Display P3 color profiles and a 90Hz refresh rate display. The panel operates at FHD+ resolution. The Pro version, on the other hand, features a 6.78-inch Fluid AMOLED display with 19.8:9 aspect ratio, HDR 10+ and QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

The brand will be selling the smartphones in two configurations – 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. The OnePlus 8 price is set at $699, which is around Rs 53,090 in India. This is for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The 12GB + 256GB model will cost $799 (approximately Rs 60,690). The OnePlus 8 Pro price starts from $899 (roughly Rs 68,280), which is the 8GB model, whereas the 12GB variant will be available for $999 (approximately Rs 75,880). The devices will go on sale starting April 19. OnePlus is yet to reveal the India price details of the 8 and 8 Pro smartphones.

Honor 30, Honor 30 Pro, & Pro+ launched with Kirin 990, 40W Charging & Periscope Cameras

The Honor 30 comes with a flat 6.53-inch OLED display with 1080p FHD+ resolution. The screen is a regular 60Hz refresh rate panel and features a single punch-hole camera on the top left corner. The Honor 30 Pro and Pro+ models feature a 6.57-inch curved OLED panel up front with dual punch-hole cameras. The resolution is 1080p FHD+ on both the models but the Pro+ comes with a higher 90Hz refresh rate panel and 180Hz touch sampling rate. All three models have in-display fingerprint sensors.

As for the hardware, the Honor 30 comes with the new octa-core Kirin 985 chipset with Mali-G76 GPU. The Kirin 985 is a slightly toned-down version of the Kirin 990 chip that powers the Honor 30 Pro and Pro+ models. Both the Pro variants have Mali-G77 GPU inside. The Honor 30 comes in 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM with 128GB and 256GB ROM options. The Honor 30 Pro has 8GB and 128GB /256GB ROM variants while the Pro+ comes in 8GB / 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM variants.

Honor 9X Lite with 6.5″ FHD+ display launched

The Honor 9X Lite is a lighter version of the 9X models and bears several similarities with the Honor 8X that was released last year. The smartphone packs an expansive 6.5-inch FullView FHD+ display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The display adopts a notch design with a 19:5:9 aspect ratio. There is also a 2.5D curved glass on top to protect the screen from scratches. The Honor 9X Lite is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 710 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and there is a single 128GB of internal storage listed. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card.

For interface, the mobile phone runs on Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9. Keeping the lights on is a decent 3750mAh battery with support for 10W charging. The phone comes with a USB Type-C fast-charging port. It utilises dual-SIM slots both accepting only nano-SIM cards. Other features onboard includes dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS + GLONASS. Finally, the Honor 9X Lite comes with a dimension of 160.4×76.6×7.8mm and weighs 175g.

Oppo A92s 5G smartphone with 120Hz display, dual punch selfie camera launched in China

The Oppo A92s features a dual punch-hole 6.57-inch (1080 × 2400 pixels) full HD+ display. It offers 20:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz screen refresh rate. The front pill-shaped dual selfie cameras include a 16-megapixel primary lens with Sony IMX471 sensor, f/2.0 aperture along with 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone doesn’t have an in-display fingerprint reader instead there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Internally, the A92s features MediaTek Dimensity 800 (MT6873V) 7nm processor. It comes in two variants with 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, but the storage is same on both – 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage. At the back, Oppo has included unique setup of four cameras. The quad-camera setup includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel portrait lens. There is a 4,000mAh battery inside with 18W fast charging support. Connectivity options include USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, and 5G. The Oppo A92s is a 5G phone. It runs Android 10 with ColorOS 7.1 out-of-the-box.
