If your new car has been prepared well by your dealer before delivery, there is no need to wax the car right now. If you wash your car and see the water beading, it will tell you whetehr it needs waxing or not, generally once in four months should be okay, but it depends on what your car is exposed to, whether it is in an exposed or covered parking and so many other external factors.

Since it is a new car, you can keep it in dazzling condition, if you take certain precautions. Wash your car, only if you have to, otherwise waterless cleaners like Optimum no rinse will do the work for you and also get good microfibre towels to wipe down your car. I find that this will reduce swirls to a minimum. Everyday, dust your car with a non scratching brush like Jopasu duster, after which you can finish with a good detailer spray like Meguiars or Mothers. If you are waxing, get hold of good Carnuba wax, either paste or liquid, liquid wax is easier to apply. These are mostly applied by hand using a good foam applicator and wiped off with MF cloth. Instead of wax, you can use synthetic polymer sealants too, like Megs Quik wax or similar preparations. The shine will last for quite some time, which you would have found out by now.

Just do a google search on Car detailing, you will be amazed at the amount of information there. A well detailed car is a pleasure to look at ,though it takes some effort to do that. All the best

Its always better to care from the very beginning to maintain that rich look. Apart from the detailing chemicals (read polishes/wax) you just need couple of decent grade microfibre cloths for applying/buffing/ cleaning. Though you will need a foam applicator in case of Solid or paste waxes.
No need to remove wax prior to washing (why should you [confused] ). Regarding the durability of Megs UQW, its known to be very very durable, will last for a month in normal condition though its claimed to last for months.

BTW as premc44 suggested get yourself a Jopasu car duster for daily dusting.
Also if you need i can PM you links to any product/s listed above.

PS: What color is your new car?

Get the proper Jopasu Duster with handle. Will cost you Rs. 499 from Sdeal.
For waxing, considering yours is a lighter shade car, you can either use the Megs UQWax or can use Collinite 845 Insulator wax. Both the products does not contain any abrasives & last really long. Twice a month waxing sessions will be more than enough as it will be a weekend runner.

Just for your information there's no such thing as TEFLON COATING ON CARS, a complete hogwash, its a marketing gimmick wherein the concerned guys just apply polish by machine & charge you a bomb. For real Teflon coating your car will have to be baked at very high degree which isn't possible so please don't fall for these things.

Thanks for clearing marketting tricks .i too have read about on net.can i apply wax maually or shall i opt for company service like 3M foam wash& waxing.as if i manually clean the car the dirt under the vehicle body will be remaining uncleaned so car wash from workshops is a must,so why not do a foamwash & waxing from there itself[confused].if i apply waxing manually will i get the gloss effect properly[;)]?

You can opt 3M or others however I do it myself as the charges are high .... It is your personal preference.

You can certainly get your car detailed, initially, at any 3M car care. They have different packages to suit different needs. Opt for a suitable one.
Further you can use Jopasu for daily cleaning followed by a fortnightly session of spray wax which will help maintain that shine.

I agree with you ,the real teflons are what you see on your non stick cookware,
some are used on adventure clothing also i assume, but the process of just spraying it on a car at an outlet is a joke in comparison. It wont stick well to a clear coat on your paint, probably mite adhere well to the rough under body though!

The main line of protection is how good the paint & clear coat is from the manufacturer after which the little things like periodic polishing & detailing is left to us.
Now days cars under 8 lakhs have pathetic paint quality in terms with cost cutting!

^^ True. I somewhat agree with you on that paint quality issue too & not to mention metal sheets getting thinner by the day [:)]
My 2003 model M-800 has thicker gauge sheet than my 2010 Alto.
