Conversation Mirror

My SUV is having conversation mirror.
Conversation mirror is a convex mirror in an overhead panel that provides convenience at a glance. It's your quick check mirror, allowing you to see what the kids are up to while you're driving. It is useful for both ways, talking and listening persons can view each other.

My odyssey has heated leather seats and heated OVRMs.
My Camry has reading lamps for the rear passengers whose angle can be changed (just like in an airplane)

Re: What “Special” Features Does Your Car Have?

I am not sure if this is posted in this thread already. Ertiga has a mechanism to fold & push the middle row seats ahead which can be done by the person sitting in the third row. So he/she does not have to wait for someone to push the seat forward so that he/she can get down from the car. This is good feature to have IMO since I have seen people sitting in last row of Innova getting annoyed when the ones sitting ahead do not slide the middle row seat & simply walk off. [:)]

Interesting and Unknown Features in Automobiles

There are several unknown and interesting features in automobiles. Starting this thread to discuss on unknown & interesting facts.

To start with, after entering the fuel station many of us start thinking which side the fuel lid is positioned (this happens normally with a new car or when we are new to a car) Just look at the instrument cluster / Fuel gauge. Arrow symbol on the side denotes the location of fuel lid in the car

PS: There are few cars without this marking. If you have one such example, the only way is to confirm physically

Adding few reference images from Hyndai i20, Nissan Sunny & Maruti Swift[:)]

That is indeed interesting. I have never even cared to check why the fuel symbol was like this and now it understood. Great share :)

The fuel inlet lid's position is very helpful for placing the car in right position at petrol pump.

Wow. It is really interesting. And I'm sure that Honda City Instruction manual also is not speaking about this information.

Revelation. But not useful for me, I'm using a Beat [:)]

And for fellow Beat users - for the wives actually, there is a headlamp/parking lamp shut down mechanism. In case you turn the car off when the headlights are ON, they turn off in the ACC or LOCK position, it's normal but be sure to keep it on the LOCK pos. - now only the Parking Lamps are ON. Now if you open the driver door, the parking lamps shut down too! [:D]

Now, I dunno if other cars have these too, but Beat certainly does.

Very useful and innovative feature for Beat most normal car got buzzer, Now the question for Beat Isn't there is a option to leave the parking light on if user need to park the vehicle in the dark near busy traffic flow ? Like congested road in front of the Apartment / community etc.

Simple - Now that the switch is ON (after opening the driver's door, somehow the parking lamps turn off but the switch remains in the ON position) , just turn it OFF and ON again - now the parking lamps are on

I think it doesn't work in ACC mode, just found out when I was mad at my mom when the headlamp switch was found in the ON position. Then I thought that it turns off after 90 seconds (or so), hence researched a little and eventually found this out.

I think even the i20 has this feature... Owners, please confirm!

Edit: I think the Beat also has the Fuel gauge arrow...

It's mentioned in manuals of some of the cars. Some cars also have built-in data recorders that tracks certain information which proves useful in case of an accident.

PS: Fiesta is one of the cars to be equipped with same. Here's a thread I created long ago for Fiesta-specific features: Ford Fiesta - Often Overlooked Features.

Re: Interesting and Unknown Features in Automobiles

In Tata Zest, Power windows can be operated for 3 minutes in ‘IGN OFF’ position and when key is taken out. So, no need to insert the key again to close those open windows while getting out of the car.

I am not sure if this feature is available in other cars too.
