I agree that a Tata Diesel car and that too a used one is not-so-good combination but there should not be issues if the car is not more than an year or two, Also if its owner has kind enough with it. Look out for some used Indigo CS', I let you know if I find one.

Search the classifieds column in HINDU paper every sunday!! believe me i got my car like that only!! you can end up with a great car or even a worst car!! make sure the car is less than 2 years old or less than 30k kms. else you may get some niggling problems in your car!! as i said check the service records of whichever car u buy for any major repairs done!! if yes then avoid that car!!

I am having tough time finding a used Indica Vista or CS .The One Indigo CS ,I saw was with a dealer with a sky touching price.I think ,I will wait for another 3-4 months(2010 feb-march) to have the used cars in market.Meanwhile ,I was offered a 2008 wagon R Lxi.Tempted ,But compared to My Current Indica V2 DLE ,In Space it is low.Have this thread sleep for few months till I update(for sure).

Thanks for the support.

Hey i would suggest you try and rather increase your budget a little!! If you try to save money buying a cheap car then am sure you will end up wasting your saved money in maintenance!!!!

indica and indigo are good choice though buy a indigo as it has turbo and has good acceleration than indica. Indica suffers a lot in ac as no turbo .

for 3L u can get a max 3 year indigo car, min is your luck. i am saying according to prices here.

i got my indigo marina at 2.35L . its age was 4 years then. well maintained -owned by a sidda doctor also run a car spare shop- known person to me. Everything was favarouble to me so as the car.

I suppose you know the tips in buying a 2nd hand car.

a properly maintained 50k+ kms car is better than improperly maintained 20K+ kms run
car.

TATA price in 2nd hand is much higher.

An accent crdi will be much cheaper , but maintenance is not cheap as tata indigo

If not sedan you can try for sumo victa. Very low maintenance cost.

So ,I got Few offers.now finalized that car may be either Indica DLG or V2 DLS.
Two Offers I got :
1)I would like to know what price for 2008/12 Maroon Indica V2 DLS Kerala done only 7000kms with warranty,Small ICE Setup etc? OTR Price after some Rs30,000 discount(including exchange bonus) in Kerala for this month is 3,56,000 Rupees Approximately(Otherwise costs around 4 lakh rupees). What will be the ideal price for this car?He is asking 3.10 lakhs which IMHO way too Much!

2) 2008 Indica DLG done 29000kms ,Kothamangalam(KL-44) Registeration. price yet to tell.

The first deal sound to be good except for the price!!! Try bargaining with him , try showing keen interest in buying that car so that he reduces the price!! But do check the car for scratches , dents , service records and the condition of the tyres!! Try getting for something around 2.75-3.0Lakhs!!

The second deal i feel is better to avoid as the car has already clocked around 30k and TATA cars are known to give problems!! Difficult to maintain it after 30k kms from my own personal experience!!

Also try to know the reason why they are selling the car!! Obviously he wont tell the problem in the car but its better knowing this!!

Hello biker,
The First Deal obviously seems to be a better option as the car is new and hasn't clocked much yet. The asking price is bit on higher side, You can close the deal to a much better price but that all depends on your negotiation trick. But before finalizing any deal, I would strongly recommend to minutely inspect the car for any faults, Which a qualified Mechanic can do better. Also, Make sure to check if the owner has full paper work and hasn't fiddled with Odo Meter. A good suggestion by cooldhaya - Ask the Owner for the reason to sell.

He was(and is) not so keen to sell.A Vehicle Broker Brought Me this offer.I thought the car was not worth more than 2.90 Lakhs. But ,Wait there are few offers too for 2008 DLS cars.

EDIT:I think this guy really don't want to sell his car![lol]Now He is asking Rs3.25 lakhs(New DLS this Month costs Rs 3,56,000 only!) For this car!So ,I think Let His Mind Come Down to Reality that I Will discuss the price with him(if ever).[thumbsdown]

DLG Turbo ,I am interested. But ,seems not available that easily.the 2nd deal is closed now ,I guess.

Indica's run in coastal regions are more on sale with the deep rusting on the areas down the doors(rear side). My Last Indica too had this issue. So ,I will have to take the Vehicle to a ramp in service station to check the underside thoroughly.
I will Update this thread.

Well then it makes more sense!! That means the car is in good condition if he doesn want to sell it!! The deal seems to be really good!! Tel him that the OTR price of the new car itself is 3.56Lakhs only and ask him to re-consider his price if he is serious about selling his car!!

What is wrong with TDi Turbo diesel Engines buying a TDI Indica Vista in 2 days.help!

Hello Guys ,

I am contemplating on Buying a New Indica Vista or Indica V2 DLS Car this week.I am totally confused in whether to go for Indica V2 DLS or Indica Vista Aqua TDi(Turbo Diesel). As Tata is giving a good discount till 22nd of this month ,Indica Vista Terra Quadrajet(OTR 4.45lakhs in Kochin) is also eyed on.

Now ,All I know are discouraging Me from Buying Indica Vista Aqua TDI(Turbo) Since Many claims TDi Engine Will be Heavy on Pocket,Maintanence will be Very High ,Turbo can be busted after 40,000kms of Use Etc.
But ,as I researched ,in Used Car Markets ,Indica Turbo's are having less demand, slightly less price too.

My Question is ,Has TATA IMPROVED their Quality with Tdi Engines available in Vista,Indigo CS etc ?Can I rely My Money on this?
--

Indica V2 DLS is Really Value For Money(VFM) and V2 DLS BS-II is available Here for Rs 3.57lakhs OTR.Has Indica Improved from the 2002-2003 Years? Will Driving With A/C extremely struggling for the Car?
And ,
Will Indica V2 Survive for another 4-5 Years in Production?I am worried if this model is discontinued ,I will be sure repenting for not buying Indica Vista Earlier.
So ,I need Urgent Help in these regard.

thanks,
biker

Well to start with, tata has improved much since they first launch indica.
V2 was improved version which later on got different engine options of Tdi,turbo and dicor.Tata still sells its non turbo indica V2 along with new vista.I dont think there's any problem with current V2 indica, which i too strongly believe is truely VFM in the given price bracket, but then having said that if you can buy new vista quadrajet base then dont opt for Tdi.Nothings wrong with tdi engine but then new india's famous engine is superb product, better refinement, power delivery, better torque with all new platform build and interiors as well.
Would say go for terra quadrajet and you wont regret after couple of years of ownership.

All new diesel engines to Tata cars like Vista and Manza, are Fiat's MJD and which is proven and one of the best engine.
