Shifting from reverse to neutral, you don't have to press down, just a mild inwards push and the gear slots into neutral with a spring like action.
Visit the workshop when you get time, but surely do. I hope its not more than just a lubrication issue.
I know Rightnow. At times shifting to neutral from reverse is not that difficult. But at other times, it becomes very tight it's scary. Have to visit the A.S.S soon. Also sometimes, while downshifting from 4th to 3rd, there is a slight notchiness. Before I got the Polo, I used to think that my Getz had a slightly notchy gearbox but now, I've to give credit to Hyundai engineers for the butter-smooth gearshifter.

I can tell you that there is no notchiness in polo whatsoever. I have tried hyundai i20 and others too, and believe me polo's (or VW's) gearshift are unmatchable. So, before anything major crops up in your polo, report it to workshop.

By the way, where are the pics of your polo? Or have you been lying all this time?[lol]

Tyre changed today. Upsized to 185/65 R14. Settled for Apollo Accelere. Total 16k. Quoted 4200 a piece. Stock MRF ZVTS clocked almost 33k km, almost bald.

Also bought a set of Packy Poda mats for 750.

Congrats for tyres.
33k for MRF to get bald is too low I think. Anyways 185/65 should be really comfortable as compared to before.

Yeah, a bit too low. 185/65 very comfy compared to the skinny 175s.

All 4 tyres were equally bald though front left had alignment issues and worn more in the inside edge. The dumbs at SVC didn't use the spare wheel, only 4 for rotation and the spare is still unused. Thought of using spare in one end, but as we were upsizing, kept it as spare itself.

Was about to buy Michelin XM2, but Accelere price was very much low 4970 compared to 4200. XM2 was available in 185/70 and 185/65 and shop guy was asking to go for 185/70 as that will improve the drive height a bit. Because of speedo error, I was stuck to 185/65.

Good. Any reason for not checking out the Potenza GIII's?
BTW please post some pics of the ride with new shoes.
Inquired about Bridgestones, dealer said only some B258 or something like that available in that size. That dealer was always crowded and we have to wait there for 3-4 hours for our chance and I was too much inclined towards XM2s. Went in to get XM2s, great deal for Acceleres, fell for it [;)]

Snaps maybe delayed, car came, fixed new shoes and left. If it come back tomorrow, I'll click, else can't say when it will be back.

My first year insurance renewal is due in March. Any idea how much would the premium be?
Depends on the insurance agent and the IDV value of the car they put. Could be anywhere between 12-14k I guess. How much was the first insurance premium for you?

I'm guessing around 14-16k. I thought it was 18k to begin with. That's why I said 12-14k earlier. When you go for renewing your insurance, ask them for discounts. They do give discounts. [:)]

Ya will do that. Thanks a lot for the heads up. [:)]

One more query, have you guys changed the headlight bulb? Or still using the stock ones?
