Saw updated Polos at showroom for delivery. They are stopping the 14-inchers across Polos and Ventos. All models now come with 185/60 R15. Base model comes with 15 inch steel rims and electirc car like wheel caps with whrome VW logo.

Oh [surprise]. That's a lot of running! 30k in 1 year. Great going!
Do share the 2nd service bill here so that I can have a quick go about it! Any parts being changed?
Estimate 14k. Routine 2nd service + Parcel Tray + Detailed cleaning - Wheel related jobs (Tyre due replacement). Will be getting car on Monday only.

Very cheap, only 14309 INR for second service.

Tyre will be upgraded soon. Eyeing XM2s. Quoted 4.9k/piece for 185/65R14.

What is this Goodwill contribution?

The pricing for engine oil is idiotic. That is the main thing which makes Polo service unnecessarily costly.

At least its synthetic. Undigestable is the 78 bucks for a screw [surprise]

Lighting check 80 + tax, for just switching off and on all lights [frustration]

Thank god, they didn't charge anything for filling the wind screen washer fluid [;)]

if this goes this way, then they will be charging for opening & closing the doors too. And later charge for just looking at the car! [anger] [frustration]
Hehe. That post made me laugh [:D] I'm not looking forward to my Polo's first service. Luckily for me, I've only reached 3300kms/1 month.
Nice car but the turbo lag is a bit too much and so is the service cost. *sigh*

Another question. My car is one month old and I've done 3300kms in it. Yet the gearshifts are hard. I mean, after driving the Polo, the gear shift in my Getz is like hot knife through melting butter. I need only my little finger to shift gears in my Getz. The gear shift in my Polo initially was very tight but it has become slightly easier now. But it is not as smooth as say, the TD car I drove at EVM TVM. Is it the same in your car?

There might be an issue with your car regarding gearshifts, otherwise polo's gearshifts are excellently smooth. Still, I have come across other polo owners too complaining of gearshifts, I don't know why.
Have you shown it to the workshop people?

I haven't shown it to the service centre because I've got classes even on Saturday till around 4. The only day I have off is Sunday. So you see. But yes. I'm planning on skipping classes one day this coming week and taking it to the service centre. The gear shift slots into gears pretty smoothly but you need to put in a lot of effort to actually shift the shifter, especially to put it to neutral from reverse (my sister had to use both her hands and all her strength to put the gear back into neutral from reverse [:D])

Cummon man, not both hands!
The ideal gearshift on polo would be just butter smooth. The day I have to use anything more than my left hand for shifting gears, I will rush to workshop at godspeed.

Well, that might be because my sister is thin but even I have to put considerable effort to put it back into neutral from reverse. In the beginning, I thought it was because of the odd position of the reverse gear along with the need to press it down. I tried pressing it down to shift it back to neutral but still same problem. So I guess I'm seeing a visit to the VW A.S.S sometime in the near future. God help me.

Shifting from reverse to neutral, you don't have to press down, just a mild inwards push and the gear slots into neutral with a spring like action.
Visit the workshop when you get time, but surely do. I hope its not more than just a lubrication issue.
